Well, I booked a OW on SW thinking they would eventually open up the cheaper fares for the return flight on Sunday, no such luck yet. Well, since I already have half the flight on SW, I guess I'm kind of stuck with them (wich makes me sick because I found a RT on Delta for $210)... So on to the question? Do you think SW will eventually open up the cheaper rates for their weekend flights? With the price of gas going up and me needing 5 tickets, this is really making me nervous. :sad2:

I've heard pf people actually getting their money back from SW instead of credit.

Worth calling and asking. Sometimes it takes a few phone calls before you get an agent that will honor the refund.

Good luck!

Kim

I don't know the answer to your question but you don't have to fly both legs of your flight with the same carrier. It used to be less expensive to fly roundtrip with one carrier but not any longer. Try pricing out the return flight with Delta one way and see what you get.

Delta OW was $157. With the $102 at SW it would make it too expensive. I'm supposed to keep it under $250. That's why I'm so sick.

They said that they called SW directly, asked for the refund and if the were told no, they called back and asked another agent. I have read this here quite a few times.

If you can get your money back or will fly SW in the next year, then cancel that ticket and all is well. If not, then maybe you can find that $9 by finding another part of the budget that can be reduced by that much? Bring a box of Pop-Tarts and skip one or two food court breakfasts, for example? There is almost always a way to find small amounts somewhere. Or is there a whole 'nother reason for the $250 limit?

I called the refund dept three different times last month trying to get a refund with no luck but I would say it's still worth a try - the worst they're going to say is no.

I have seen SW open up the super cheap fares on dates that show almost SOLD out on all flights...they can be VERY unpredictable. I asked on your other thread what your dates and city was...that might help!
