Hi everyone,
Okay, so my boyfriend and I are going to WDW for the FIRST TIME EVER in September. Two years ago, he took me to Disneyland for my first time, and ever since then, I CANNOT get enough Disney in my life. I am 22 years old, and I have more Disney cartoon DVD's on my shelf than any other type of movie. I'm a young, professional adult, who wears a suit 9 to 5, so it's almost like I lead this secret child's life underneath, haha! Of course, it's no secret, one look at my desk at work and you can PLAINLY see that I am obsessed.

And that's just what my boyfriend calls it, obsessed. Ever since I booked our trip in April, I have been scouring the internet and bookstores for every single little peice of information I can get. I can't get enough!!!

So thank you, all. Thank you for a place where I can still be obsessed, but definitely not alone!!!!:grouphug:

BTW.......any tips are most certainly appreciated :):):):)

:welcome: This is such a wonderful place!! You will find a wealth of info all over the place....The people here are fantasitic! Definalty a great place to share in the obsession!!lol:grouphug:

Hi :welcome:

Since you are going in Sept., did you book the Free Dining? The offer must be booked by June 22, and is good as long as you check-in by Sept. 20.

Where are you staying? How many days? Did you make Advance Dining Reservations?

You're gonna have a great time! pixiedust:

Um, well I booked it through the Disneyworld site...and it didn't have anything on there about free dining....so I guess we don't have it! lol

We're staying at the All star movies resort. We fly in on the 19th of September, and fly out on the 28th. We'll actually be IN the parks the 20th through 27th.

Yup, made dining reservations...I am SO excited about that part too. We have some great restaraunts picked out. I'm really excited about Sci Fi Dine in Theatre, Liberty Tree Tavern, Coral Reef, and Restaraunt Akershus

SOOO EXCITED! Just can't believe it's so far away! lol :)

I have another question too....my birthday is October 13th. We are kind of going to celebrate my birthday, since I couldn't get my birthday week off. Does anyone think they'll let me have a birthday pin? :confused3 I would imagine not, since it's not actually my real birthday.....but it's worth a try right lol.

Call back (TODAY!!) and ask them to price out any resort options at all that include free dining for your dates. You may find that you can upgrade, say, to a moderate and still save (or even just not lose) money because of what you'll save in free dining. It most certainly is worth the time spent on the phone.

Hi,

Did you buy the Dining Plan (DP)? Disney offers a basic DP... 1 snack, 1 Counter Service meal (CS) and 1 Table Service meal (TS) for each night of your stay. Adults are about $38 X (times) the number of nights you stay.

Between 8/24 - 9/20, Disney is offering this plan for free. Availability is limited and you have to request the free dining promotion (you do not automatically receive it by being a guest during those dates.)

You should call and find out what's available for your dates. Have a CM check, before cancelling your existing reservation, or just ask if you can apply the code to your existing reservation. Hey, it can't hurt to call... and it would save you about $80 per day, if it's available.

Sounds like you have a great trip planned. (Some good restaurant choices, too.)

We have stayed at ASMovies, and love it! I have 5 children, spread 20 years apart, 7 - 27, and when we all travel together, we stay in 2 rooms at ASMovies. The resort is so cute and you are surrounded in Disney magic.

A few tips...

  • Make a list of must-see-and-do attractions, and try to hit these first thing in the morning. Then, relax, and discover the magic at your own pace.
  • Take advantage of Extra Magic Hours (EMH). Check the park calendar at the WDW site.
  • Buy an autograph book, before going to your first Character meal. Disney sells one with a picture slot on the facing page... makes a nice souvenir.
  • Use Fast Passes.
  • It will be HOT! Plan on taking a break in the afternoons, and return to your resort for a swim.
  • Bring rain ponchos.
  • Grab a schedule of showtimes as you enter DHStudios.
  • Don't miss Fantasmic.

Have a magical trip! We are going for 11 days at the end of August!

Okay, so I just called about the free dining plan...and since we are getting there on the 19th of September and the promotion only runs through the 20th of September, they couldn't apply it to the whole trip. BOO. lol She said that she could try to apply it to that one day, but they didn't have any more rooms available at that resort for it. And I want to stay there! haha. OHHHH well. Was worth a try. haha.

Still SUPER SUPER SUPER excited haha! OO OO and do ya'll see my new OFFI CIAL little ticker here???? OH yyyyeeeeeah haha.

I'm getting sucked into the obsession already. I now have a crazy signature like everyone else haha.

We did get the dining plan. I figured it was way cheaper than paying for all your food outright, plus it'll allow us to go to some nicer restaraunts that we probably wouldn't have forked the money over for otherwise. And I love to buy souveniers on trips, so my biggest fear was that I would be scared to spend money on souveneirs, not knowing how much we'd need for food, so this way, I don't have to worry about bringing money for food, cuz' it's already taken care of. I need only worry about the tip!!! Has anyone been to Hollywood and Vine? We booked that one for the priority seating to Fantasmic, but not so sure about the food haha. DBF is SUPER picky eater.

BTW...anyone know of any other promotions going on I can call and bug Disney about lol?

Glad to see you are liking it around here!! Your siggie looks great!! Sorry you couldn't get free dining, but you get to stay at the resort you want!!

Call back and try another CM, I know for sure people were able to book for the last day of the promo and extend it thru their stay! It is worth another shot.

Welcome and Good Luck!

Some people have been able to apply the code to their entire stay... past the 20th, as long as they checked in on or before the 20th... guess it depends on which CM you speak to and what's available.

Oh well, it doesn't matter... all's cool :cool1: YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY!

I had a typo in my last post... I posted we'll be there for 11 days, I meant 12! :yay:

You mentioned you won't have park tickets for your arrival and departure days... if you arrive/depart, early/late, and have time... there are lots of good picture spots around the resort. Also, check out Downtown Disney or the Boardwalk area.

We always get the DP, too. We like the convenience and besides, I've always scheduled a TS meal per day... I would be miserable eating CS all week.

We have eaten at H&V, for the Fantasmic package and it was just okay. If your BF is picky, sometimes buffets are a good thing, as there is a lot to choose from.

We didn't book a Fantasmic Package for this trip... we are going to DHStudios on an Extra Magic EVENING Hours... there will be 2 shows that evening, so we plan to go to the late one, hopefully, it will be less crowded. We always spend 2 days at DHStudios, so my kids request the Si-Fi Dine-In on the other day we're there.

Usually, when we go to the Studios, we dine at one of the Epcot resort restaurants. It is just a beautiful boat ride from the Studios. Also, dining at the resort restaurants is a great way to check out other resorts... so you'll know where you want to stay next time!!! :yay:
