I'm SO Mad Right Now!!!

I was wondering the same thing, but the merchant probably has a hold on the funds (since the purchase was approved) and they aren't available for withdrawal.

I always thought you weren't protected from someone using your card like you are on a credit card. Even on credit cards you are responsible for the first $50 on each card if they are stolen. At best wouldn't it be the same for debit? I was always told you can loose up to what you have in the account, that's why I never use a debit on line.

I have had credit cards used and I was not responsible for even the first 50.00 they spent on there. I know they say you are but I have never had them charge me that money.
I recently purchased concert tickets-- only one pair and for some reason I was charge that amount SIX time on my debit card...I looked at my checking account balance before going food shopping and was shocked that there was like 21.00 in there when I thought there should have been over a thousand! I called the bank freaking out saying I was charged 6 times-- I have no money to go food shopping etc LOL...they released 2 of the charges right then and there but the others stayed a few days before they cleared them up---I was just happy that they did release some of the money which they really didn't have to do..
