First off Hi! I haven't posted on here much but I intend to start posting on here a LOT more :thumbsup2

Anyway! I am sooooooooooo excited as we are getting a cat on Saturday!!! I have never had a cat before so I'm not sure what to expect! He is 14 weeks old and black and white!
Has anyone on the board got cats?

I love cats i have 2 Maddy and Akai (named after the dolphin we swam with at DC) they are brother and sister and are almost 16 months old. Both of them are so lovable they follow me every where and give us loads of love and cuddles. Handle it as much as it will allow this will let it get used to you and know it can trust you. Have fun and enjoy it :cat:

I am really looking forward to it Tony say's I am obsessed and that he will end up being really spoilt! One question I did have is do you let your cats out and when did you first start doing this?

Ahhh! So cute!
You'll have to post some pics!!
We have just got a new bunny (baby black lop eared), whos a little love!!

Excellent ~ You will need to post a piccie for us :)

I will do as soon as we get him home! I am getting him from a friend of her mum's, her cat had three Kittens she kept one gave one away and said that I could have the last one so we just need to fetch him!!! I am so excited and Tony say's that's all I have talked about since I found out! :rotfl2:

Hope you enjoy your new cat. I haven't had one before, so I can't offer any tips I'm afraid..

Just keep it away from the fish is all I can advice... ;)

Sorry Stitch&Ariel i have tried 4 times to reply and this stupid internet keeps throwing me off. We have never let our cats go out of the back garden just to keep them safe. You will have to wait until it has had all of its injections before it is allowed out. If you phone a vet they will advise you on the best time for its jabs ours were only 8 weeks when we had them so we waited a couple of weeks but yours may be due as it is older or may well of already been done thats something i would ask when you pick it up on sat. The other thing i would ask is about the food try and keep to the food it is on now so not to upset its tiny tummy. My cat is standing infront of me at the moment just rubbing her face against mine or is it because it is tea time!!!

How lovely, please post some piccies, that would be lovely :thumbsup2

Have you chosen a name for your new cat - will it have a Disney connection

I have two, brother & sister 15 months old. Fred and Mary. They are the best thing Gavin & I have ever bought. Having them from kittens means they completely trust us and we know their personalities completely.

We let them out for the first time after about Seven months, took so long as it was winter and we didnt want them out in the dark. We did it gradually, following them around the yard making sure they couldnt get out but after a few goes we just opened the back door and left them too it, now when their out I just shout them back and they come running.

We are thinking of calling him Bailey as we both liked that, I spoke to the vet who said to keep him in for a week to make sure he is okay then take him for his jabs! I am unsure about letting him out mainly because you hear loads of bad stories about things happening to cats but maybe I am just being paranoid :confused3

I work at a stables and we have a cat who just pitched up one day with a mouse in its mouth, curled up on a horse rug, and has been here three years now.
He's great. Spends all night out on the tiles, (without his sphericals so he doesn't get into any bother) and comes in next morning for his breakfast before making a nest in the hay.

Awwwwwwwwww that's so cute! :cloud9:

I was out buying some kitten food ready yesterday and it say's on the box that they have 4 meals a day so you are supposed to give them that many pouches!!! Is that true it seems like a lot???

My 2 have a pouch between them 4 times a day and they still pester us for more.Cats are greedy they will always eat more. i remember one night DH had fed the cats before going to bed and i hadn't realised and fed them before i went up they had 2 meals and ate the lot!!!!

We have a kitten, he is 6 months old He's called Rooney :rotfl: But we find he goes very loopy in the morning Dunno if its just how kittens act or if its just our kitten :rotfl:
