:flower3:Hi all,

I cant believe what I did last night - for those who don't know Im a disney cruise fanatic.

Well I've been off the disboards this last month or so as work / life etc has been a bit hectic.

Yesterday I looked on the Disney cruise thread and I couldn't beleive what I read they are booking 2011 cruises and more importantly announced new itineries.

I read further and OMG ALASKA was where the Wonder ship was heading for the summer 2011.

DH has always always always wanted to go to Alsaka -every since I met him 17 yrs ago. Personally I think the scenery looks amazing but the cold idea has always put me off.

Well I then read and booking is only open to gold and platnum CC members - I did not even know they'd introduced tiers:eek:

Anyway to cut a long story short I found out that becuase I've done 6 cruises I'm actuallly a gold member so I phoned last night and changed our med booking for 2010 into an Alaskan cruise Aug 2011:woohoo:

Needtheless to Say DH is thrilled and shocked.

Now I need to start planning our trip to Vancouver as thats where the ship leaves from.

Any help is really appreciated - share your ideas and help me plan - I know nothing :rotfl:

I booked the Panama Canal sailing on Monday, and me & Hubby are so excited too :yay::yay:

How exciting, I have always wanted to go to Alaska & Canada:goodvibes

How exciting - I did Alaskan cruises for 3 months when working for Princess and it was stunning. Vancouver is a lovely city too. You will love it!

You should be able to find my Vancouver trip report on the trip report board still - we loved it! I'd love to go back:goodvibes Also the canadian trip planning forum is a useful source, plus Tripadviser has never steered me wrong yet:thumbsup2 Recommend the Westin Bayshore hotel if you are staying a few nights, or the Granville Island Hotel - not so central but in a funky area with its own brewery onsite:thumbsup2

Fab news, Helen!!! DH and I were on the Magic just last week and the ship was buzzing with all the news/info so we made a couple of dummy bookings one of which we've now transferred to the final Alaska cruise!!! My DH has always wanted to go too so it was an easy decision... Have fun planning - I know I will!!! ;) :goodvibes :cool1:

I hope that you will have a great time on the Panama Canal Cruise.

Well, I had a look at what was on offer and decided the prices that were posted for the Panama Canal Cruise is really more than what we are willing to pay. We will also have 320 DVC points to use in 2011. So we are probably going for a back to back Eastern and Western Caribbean cruise over our anniversary using points for one and paying cash for the other. As this will be our 13th anniversary and we got married on a Friday 13th, which has turned out to be a lucky day for us, we intend to renew our wedding vows on that cruise.

fly to calgary and see banff before heading to vancouver on the mountaineer and have 3 or 4 days at least in vancouver either before or after the cruise, Canadas wonderful but don't miss the banff national park, its incredible.

Thank you for all the suggestions it is really appreciated.

Having just looked at map I did not realise Seattle was that close to Vancouver - We made some great dis friends this year who live there and they have said they would give us a tour and take dh scuba diving - so thats another possiblility.

Hmm my head is spinning (but in a nice way:flower3:)
