Here is what I got to put in with the plants that I found at WalMart in my new landscaping area that we be begun this weekend....

Thanks to some people on here I was very pleased with the info and catalog to White Flower Farm so I'm giving them a try...

Antirrhinum - Debutante - a pink/white snapdragon like plant/flower

Baptisia - a blue/purple colored bush

Calamintha that has lavendar and white colored blooms - will go in front of the Baptisia

Crocosmia Lucifer that will go in the back along with some Mondarda that I'm going to purchase

Galium - Sweet Woodruff

Strawberries and Cream Asiatic Lilies

I have a few things I want to order from Spring Hill Nurseries and I already have about 20 plants that I got at WalMart. My color scheme is becoming purply/lavendar/deep blue, pinkish, redish, with a bit of white and yellow mixed in. So we'll see how it looks once it's in. I have a feeling I'll be moving lots of things around to other places.

Wow Chris, sounds like you got a good haul there, and you have 20 more plants to place? You are going to be VERY busy!! :)

The color scheme sounds very nice! We shall patiently (sort of...lol) wait for your work-in-progress pics. :) ;) :)

Tonight I hope to get a pic of the side as it is now and I will do progressive pics during the weekend. Now as long as it doesn't rain on Sunday, we might get it all done and ready to plant for next weekend. I'm sure hoping. My dad sounds like he's gonna hang out after he tills and help me get this done...gotta love my dad!

I love putting in different flowers and watch to see how it will look - your garden sounds lovely - hope to see pics when its in full bloom!

Looking forward to seeing all these beauties in your new garden area! Isn't it fun!? I love putting in new sections. I am going to start picking up some plants this afternoon to start filling in my annual beds. It's time to put a splash of color around the front sections of the house! :)

WOW! It sounds like a wonderful start! Please post pics...:D

Oh and I haven't even start thinking about annuals. I was thinking I wasn't going to put annuals in this year but I decided I think it just wouldn't be right if I didn't. I did buy 3 "window" boxes for my patio that I need to try and get soiled and seeded this weekend. I'm waiting for Menard's to call me and tell me they found the box brackets that I need that go over my deck rails. They haven't called yet.

This has been fun - picking the plants that I want. I hope I can endure this project to make it continue to feel fun!!!!

Boy, you're going to be busy, busy, busy! It will be beautiful tho! (Great choices too - I LOVE crocosmia!!!)

It sounds beautiful. A word of caution - we had quite a few conversations last year about the poop bugs that eat the Asiatic liies. I don't know if they have reached your area yet - but be on the lookout. They start chomping away at the lilies. They are ugly litle bugs (I can't remember but I think they are orange) and they leave a pile of bug poop behind. The only thing that worked for me was Sevin.

December99 enjoy all your beautiful new plants. One of the best parts of spring is picking out new flowers to add to an older garden or starting a new garden.

I have a Baptisia plant thats just lovely when in bloom. This plant does get rather large so do not crowd it. Mine when in bloom is almost 5 feet tall and 3-4 feet around. Like Peony's it get top heavy when in bloom, it will need support. A few years back I purchased some circular supports from Home Depot that works great on the tall perennials.

Baptisia

Also it dies completely back to the ground in the winter, so technically it's not a bush.
