I've away gone to WDW in August. I'm so looking forward to going in mid-April. What is the weather like then? Do I have to worry about afternoon thunderstorms? Is it normally humid? I'm so looking forward to walking around without melting in the heat. I'm not sure where we'll stay, though I'm leaning to the BC to be close the the Flower and Garden Festivle.

We won't arrive until a full week after Easter. How do you think the crowds will be?

I've been in March many years ago. Our first trip in fact after that it always had to be during school vacations usually in the summer. This year, my oldest Ds is graduating from High school so we are taking a Mom and son trip April 14-20. Which of course is during school break. I hear the parks will be pretty busy but I am not expecting Christmas crowds or 4th of July crowds.

My wife and I have been down a few times is early May because that is our anniversary. It is nice around that time. I believe we only pack shorts and most days for us were sunny, sometimes a thunderstorm but not bad. This last time it was hotter and more humid than normal, but not as bad as in August. We love going around that time.

I went last year about 2 weeks after Easter and it was very nice. The weather wasn't very humid and the crowds were pretty small! Flower and Garden is very beautiful. Wear shorts, but you will be comfortable, not melting.

There were pop-up thunderstorms! But not every day like in summer. One day I was back in my room between parks or something- beautiful sunny day, I could hear kids in the pools- and all of a sudden there was a HUGE, LOUD crack of thunder/lightning out of nowhere! Then I could hear lifeguard whistles and kids yelling while they cleared the pools. We had a relatively short burst of rain and then it was gone.

But in general- it is a FAR superior time to visit over August!!!!! If you have a choice- go when most kids are in school! :thumbsup2

Just about any month is better than August in Orlando. I don't go to the parks in the summer and I live here.

we also used to travel in August due to a teacher schedule and flight prices that made it impossible to travel in april....but since we decided to drive back and forth we have done april!!!

what I love about it is the weather, and the fact that when we return, spring and summer are right at our doorstep, as opposed to fall and winter!!!
