I'm so bummed and disappointed!

Rebecca, it looks like we're going to MNSSHP on the same day. Have you decided if you're going in costume? I'm leaning toward Lilo, but need to find a suitable dress (or, shudder, sew one). I think my sister Karen is going as Minnie.

I am definitely going in costume, but I can't decide for the life of me what I'm going to do! One thought we are tossing around is about me dressing up as isabella from phineas and ferb and my dad as either perry the platipus or as phineas! I think that would be classic! :goodvibes We need to start a new thread for "what are you dressing up as???" :) For the record, I think you'd make an excellent Lilo!

Aww, thanks  I think you'd make a swell Isabella. This is going to be so much fun!

Is your Dad was coming along to MNSSHP this year? I thought it was next year that he was joining you for the Singles trip.

Care! You reminded me that I didn't post the latest update! I had posted it on our single's trip thread, but not here so here ya go!

Update: After trying to figure out how I was going to come up with my mom's refund, I finally broke down and asked my dad if he wanted to go to disney with me. He was really touched since he knows that I really don't like vacationing with him. Anyways, he'll be going with me on this trip, but not on the Single's Trip 2009. Teresa, if you're reading this, I'm sorry honey... there's just no way I could stand being down there with him 2 years in a row. :lmao:

Thanks for all of your support!

WTG Rebecca!... I'm sure you'll have a great time w/ Dad. I'm going solo that week too... I've been tossing around the MNSSHP but It seems like something that would be more fun w/ family/friends than solo... i'm still trying to talk myself into 10/16 though since i haven't done that one and the pirate/pricess party was a total blast!!

Wow! If you are solo that week, you should definitely join us for MNSSHP! There are a lot of soloists there that night :goodvibes

Awe Rebecca. ..you need to let your mom know that when she backed out at the last minute she placed a hardship burden on you. You really are not obligated to pay her back anything that you do not get back from AAA or Disney. I do suggest taking the Solo trip though. You will have a blast. I am ABSOLUTELY sure there will be other solo disers there at the same time. As far as Mnsshp tix. There could possibly be someone out there who just happens to want a tix at the same time you are going. . .

I agree. Too bad so sad for your mom. She should have thought of this before canceling the trip. Who cancels a trip and thinks they will get a full refund?

I would ask around here for people looking for tix. What dates are you going to mnsshp?

lol..I have NEVER known anyone that got a discount like that so WOW, in fact everyone I talked to ended up paying more thru AAA than if they booked on site.... Will they let you chg your moms ressie to someone else maybe get a cousin, friend etc to go

I understand the $270 discount. We saved $220 by using AAA last year.

I am glad everything worked out for you. I am sorry that you had to give back the money and I am sorry your Mom put you through all the stress.

I really appreciate all of your kind thoughts and suggestions. At this point, I'm really beginning to think that this trip wasn't such a good idea after all. :sad1: I'm not cancelling, afterall, I have to meet some of the girls who will be at the upcoming singles trip in October 2009...

I've been trying on and off for a few weeks to get in touch with my TA in order to change the name on the additional traveler. My agent, we'll call her "Miss Meannie/Hateful Travel Agent," is just terribly rude and mean. Since I'm already booked with free dining, it isn't as if I can fire her and rebook directly though disney. Point is, I dealt with more drama today and even got yelled at by her! I can't believe I let this chick get to me! I walked away from the AAA office in tears. The upside is that the men there felt sorry for me and were offering me free hugs. I got what I wanted and she lost her commission because I paid Disney directly :cool2:

Have any of you ever let people get to you like this??? I never have! I'm always the tough b**** that no one messes with! pirate:

Aww, Rebecca. I'm so sorry to hear that you had a nasty episode with your TA today. There is no excuse for the way she treated you, and I hope that you inform her manager of this. It's just not acceptable.

I hope you're feeling better now that you've had some time away from her/it. And I'm glad you're not planning to cancel because we're going to have an awesome time at JR on Sept 13. (I'll just have to figure out how to get there, and how to find you and the others...)

I thought YOU were the customer and SHE is making money off you. I would definitely write the incident up and give it to her manager and also tell the manager how she has treated you from the beginning, sort of like you were doing her a favor. . .awful. . .

Rebecca, I have to tell you a small story.

I was in retail many years ago. I didn't yell at a customer, but didn't let her have a full refund. She contacted the president of the company, who contacted my manager, who sat me down to have a talk. He told me that 90% of the people who have a complaint are sincere about it, while 10% percent are conning us. Why insult the 90%, thinking they are the 10%. And how much money would it cost the company in advertising to overcome what the customer says to their friends? I saw his point. I had blown it. But I wouldn't have known that if the customer hadn't contacted the company. I use this thinking when I run into a situation(especially at Disney) when I start to think the worse in people. I stop, remember the 90%, and move on.

The management wants to know if something is wrong to make it right, so you and all of us will use AAA in the future.
So if you can, take the time to write or phone the manager, and let them know of your bad service. You are actually helping them, and eventually the TA who was rude to you.

Sorry, I guess this is a long story!!

Have fun!

I know you're right Kitty. I worked retail for many years, myself and agree. Unfortunately, I feel like I need to be a little reserved until I atleast have my documents. It was odd. She said things in such a pleasant smarty-pants tone- I really wanted to strangle her! Anyways, I have begun drafting a letter to AAA detailing how unmagical my experience has been this year. However, after talking about it on the boards, I've gotten several references to another TA that I'm thinking I must try next time. Her name keeps coming up with glowing reviews!

Ya know...the more I think about it, talk about it, type letters to AAA about it, the longer I stay mad! At this point, I'd rather just let it go, not use them again, and just be all normal again :)
