I have three trips planned & just got my 2025 Covid shot, next up is Flu. I want nothing to do with getting sick when I am supposed to be having a nice visit!

First up is somewhere in Maine for Thanksgiving, or at least that is the goal. Doing it this weekend gives me 7 weeks to ramp up by Thanksgiving, then should be able to coast over a Florida trip at Christmas and New Years with a little gas left in the tank for Universal in February-March. Hopefully enough immunity to drive a soft landing passing over Easter.

This shot made us all a bit sleepy but over the weekend it's not necessarily a bad thing for everyone to relax.

I'm planning to do Flu shots just before Thanksgiving to be at full strength on all fronts before getting on a plane to see much loved little family members during our Christmas trip around Northern Miami which may possibly include a WDW drop in but still undecided.

I plan on getting my yearly flu shot soon but that's it but then I don't have any trips planned. Good luck to you, LuvOrlando. :goodvibes

Let’s hope Madame Leota doesn’t come in and make your trip a nightmare… hope you stay well!

I think it takes a couple weeks for the flu shot to really be working at full power so keep that in mind when timing it before your Thanksgiving trip.

I was scheduled to get my Covid vaccine but sadly got Covid a week before. So now I'll wait a few months.

But I'm getting my flu shot next week at my doctor's appointment.

I'm hoping my having covid will keep me safe on my Disneyland trip in early December.

Sounds like all those shots are working out well for you.

Thanks! They really have. I'm immunocompromised and they have kept me from getting severely ill and I haven't needed any hospitalizations. Just as the vaccine intended. I actually got much more sick the last time I had a non-covid virus that has no vaccine available for, unfortunately.

If you'd like to discuss vaccines more in depth, might be better to do that on the controversial section of the forum. See you there!

All I'll add here is that it's quite ridiculous that public health measures like vaccines and mask wearing (both which were around well before 2020) became some weird political things to some people.

I didn't know this until yesterday but apparently the Covid shot is like the Flu shot now in that it changes year to year to better target what is in circulation. I started reading because we were all sleepy the next day and that never happened before. It seems like this is going to be just like how the Flu makes people feel a little different every year which is good to know.

DH is supposed to be traveling this weekend so I'm glad he has it onboard ahead of the trip. From what I read a person who either had Covid or the vaccine before could have a faster response to a new shot and be producing decent protection after around 10 days so fingers crossed on that. Only year I got Covid I skipped because I got my ovaries out and was afraid of overtaxing my body, whelp being sick for 30 days was horrid so I'd rather that not repeat itself, yikes just thinking of the endless migraine/sinus pain and insomnia makes me gag, no thanks to that especially on vacation.
