...just kidding! I am actually thinking of using shades of blue(and cream) as my colors, but need some more ideas. All the bridal magazines out there right now are really big on pink. Which of you ladies used blue in your DFTW, and do you have pictures? If it's blue, I want to see it! ;)

I'm not going to be much help because I haven't had my wedding yet, but I plan on using blues. I love blue. :) I'm not much for pink.

I was in a wedding, although it was not DFTW, and we wore periwinkle which is bluish-purple. Oh and my sister's wedding we wore navy. I don't have any pics of either one on the computer but I could get my mom to scan some for me (I don't have a scanner). I love blue. I especially loved the periwinkle. I say go for blue!! :thumbsup2 BTW, I also wore pink in one wedding. Not my favorite. ;)

edited to add: Oh I forgot my first sister's wedding where we wore an aqua. I love blue! It is one color that looks good on me too!

Yeah I love blue too, there are so many great shades to work with. Sorry I cant be much help either cuz i havent gotten married yet, but I am planning on using ice blue, silver, and white as my colors..very cinderella-like :) What kind of blue are you planning on using??

We used blue and silver. The pictures are in my trip report. The link to the trip report is in my siggie!

In Martha Stewart's 2006 winter issue of Weddings there was some ideas on how to incorporate blue and silver into your wedding theme. I believe most of the ideas from the magazine get posted onto Martha's website. You might want to look there.

Great ideas everyone! I am thinking about using blue hydrangeas with cream roses mixed in and greenery. As for the bridesmaids dresses, I'm not sure. I originally wanted navy, but with it being a summer wedding it might be too dark. Maybe a cornflower blue that would complement the flowers but not match. I want the colors to convey elegance but not stuffiness, and to look fresh and summery. Is that too much to ask? :teeth:

We did navy blue and silver....i love blue…and the girl where happy with the dark color...actually went with the slightly purple/blue hydrangeas and blue bird roses (they look purple to me) for everything...
Disney did a great job of it....

I know i posted it somewhere on here already
but this is the link again..

Sorry, I'm a pink girl here!! However, my sister just got married in April and used a REALLY pretty periwinkle blue. Here is a picture of us from the wedding where you can see the dresses:

SRUalmn, the periwinkle dresses are so pretty! Do you know who makes those dresses? And you know, I used to be a pink girl, but all of my friends are getting married and using pink. Plus the blue is more groom friendly, and I'm excited that he is actually getting involved!

And Luvndisney, those flowers are great! I originally thought of doing blue, cream, and pale pink accents, so kind of similar.

wow, i love the colour of those dresses!. I'm haveing blue and that in my bouquets! :)

Wendy46001,

I think I saw you and your wedding party May 12 at the Grand Floridian. My mom and I were checking the site out, and were in the hotel. I saw your bridesmaid dresses, and told my mom how pretty they were! Your wedding party colors are what inspired this thread. Isn't that crazy? :thumbsup2

Thanks! I really liked them too. It made me almost want to do blue instead, but now I can't because she did ;) Sisters!! Anyway, they are from Forever Yours and were about $120-$150 (depending on which of us ordered them because we live in different states.)

I LOVE YOUR HAIR!! That style is so cute on you!!!! :) Your pictures are fabulous! Thanks for sharing them!

This is the color blue that I chose. It's called "Tropic Blue" and it's from David's Bridal.

This is 4 of my 7 Bridsemaids and I! :) We had lots of fun buying and picking out dresses that day!

Of course, the dresses will look much better on the big day! LOL! People have looked at this picture and said, "THAT is your bridesmaids dresses?" To which I wanted to reply..."YES It's MY wedding not yours! If YOU were paying for it, you could have a say-so! Which you are NOT....therefore, keep your mouth CLOSED!!"

Whew...there's some pent up anger in there! Hah! Just had to let it out!! :)

we had blue blue blue.. well, periwinkle from davids...
My colors were silver and blue.
