I just got ripped off! I won an Ebay auction the other day. I did the BUY IT NOW thing. Being the good little buyer that I am, I immediately sent payment of $51.90 to the seller via PAYPAL. It was a direct debit from my checking account. Since I'm usually a trusting person, I didn't do the buyer protection thing. Dumb!

Today, I got an email from EBAY stating that the auction was null and void because the seller had been suspended. Well that's just great. She's already got my money! I wanted to ask EBAY what my options are on this. It was terrible. Their system requires entry of a valid auction number. It wouldn't take the auction number because it was no longer valid. ARGH!

I finally sent the email under another category that doesn't require an auction number. What did I get back? A canned reply on the topic I sent it under.

It is frustrating because I am very careful to only buy from sellers with good feedback. This person had a lot of good feedback and was a registered PAYPAL user. I did send a message to the seller asking what she plans on doing. I doubt that I will get a reply.

It's not the money. It's the point. I just hate being taken advantage off! Sorry for the rant! I feel better now (not much)!

File with Paypal. They will refund you if you never received the item. It doesn't matter if the auction is void. Paypal will refund you.

Has it been more than 30 days from end of auction?

No, it hasn't been 30 days. I will wait to see if the seller comes through. If not, I will file with Paypal. Thanks!

As bad as this may sound, if you go ahead and file a complaint with PayPal, it sort of puts a "fire" under the person that sold you the item. If they do not resolve the complaint within a few days, then PayPal refunds your money.

I have an update. I contacted the seller and she assured me that I would get my merchandise (it came today in the mail). The seller told me that she was having a misunderstanding with Ebay. She did not elaborate. I guess I got overheated too fast! I'm glad this worked out. Thanks for everyone's advice.
