After reading a post where someone said a person was SELLING fast passes on ebay (it says "collectible", but its very misleading), I had to go over there and see what other Disney things were being sold.

Someone is selling 4 1-day PHPs and the high bid is $335 (after 30+ bids)! That's ridiculous! Gosh, if I had no morals, I guess I would buy up Disney passes and sell them online at a huge profit...

It is disturbing isn't it? But the real ??? remains. "WHY DO PEOPLE BUY THIS STUFF?"

If it wasn't being bought, people wouldn't sell it

:(

EXACTLY! Shocks me that people who are web savvy enough to buy off ebay don't do some easy Disney researching. Its not THAT hard to find Disney ticket prices online.

The whole thing just rubs me the wrong way...

Are you sure they aren't selling 4 1 day pHP? If you have 4 adults going to Disney they all buy 4 day PHP. Then all of them only go to the parks for 3 days...then techincally, they all have 1 day PHP left. Can these not be sold on Ebay?

I'm sure thats what it is. I just can't believe people would pay $85 per ticket for a one-day park hopper pass. And on ebay where you won't know til you are in WDW if its good!

I sgree with you, seems like people buy anything on Ebay. I know a few people who buy buy buy and have no clue as to the wauality or the selling price of the merchandise:D

Perhaps because they can't actually buy a 1 day PHP, but wanted to take one day to see ALL of the parks? I kinda can see doing that, I suppose (although I wouldn't personally, mostly because I can't imagine going to Disney for only 1 day!!)

I know what you mean! Only one day in WDW would make me cry! And $335 is a lot of $$ for only one day!

The only possible reason I can see the bidding getting so high is because Disney does not sell 1-day Park Hoppers. If you have 4 people and only want to go to WDW for one day (although that alone boggles my mind) your only option through Disney is one-park passes. Some people would rather pay more for a one-day pass than buy days they don't need.

But I totally agree about the absurdity of many of the things people sell on eBay. Just recently someone posted a link to an auction for a pair of used socks!

P.T. Barnum is proved right every day -- There's a sucker born every minute ... and most of them who have Internet access will bid on stupid auctions on eBay!

If you sell it, they WILL bid!

Caveat emptor (Let the buyer beware!)

It is pretty terrible what some people sell isn't it. However, you know what they say about a fool and his money. ;)

I know someone who buys used Disney passes on Ebay. He has an AP and collects old passes. He has paid mucho dinero for some, just to hang in one of the rooms of his house. It makes him happy so I say yay him.

It could be two people..a couple or friends that are going to Disney for two days or buisness people in a conferance who only have two free days.

If I could only be in disney for 1 or two days I have my slecected rides throughout the different parks and I would want to be hopping all over the "world"!

As an Ebay seller I say, if they're buying it, I'm SELLING it!

Usually people get caught up in the bidding process and want to win no matter how much it costs. I checked this auction and it looks like a bunch of inexperienced people were bidding on them, which shows me they really aren't that eBay savvy, though web savvy.

I sometimes question WHY someone pays what they do from me, but I'm not MAD about it! :teeth:
