I'm second guessing myself about my honeymoon resort...

When we booked our honeymoon, DF and I went back and forth from Beach Club, standard room, and Animal Kingdom Lodge, Savannah view. We decided to go with Beach Club since it's close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Now as it's getting closer, I feel like maybe I should have booked Animal Kingdom! Should I switch, or stick with Beach Club? I've never been to either!

Personally, I'd want to stay with the Beach Club, I love the advantage of being within walking distance of the parks. The view may be better at AKL, but how much time will you actually spend in your room?

We stayed at both on our honeymoon, and we enjoyed both, but I preferred Beach Club. As Tink_Kel said, you may not spend that much time in your room, and the only time we ever saw a lot of animals was the one day when we ran back to our room for something in the middle of the day.

I'm not saying Savannah View is not cool - it is! But the resort is definitely not in the thick of the action. BCV is so convenient to so many places, and there's a lot more to do in the area after hours. And, for me, I just prefer light and airy decor to dark and heavy.

Could you stay at AKL for, say, 2 nights, and BC the rest?

I thought about splitting our stay between the two, but how much of a pain is it to move from one resort to another? I don't want to spend a day "moving"!

We had a car, and it wasn't hard at all. I'd say it took us 30-60 minutes depending on how busy the check-in desk was. We just packed up and drove over to the new resort and checked in, or went to a park and checked in later on in the day. We moved resorts 4 times, and it was never a big deal.

If you don't have a car, Disney's Bell Services can transport your luggage for you and you can check in whenever you want. The only thing is, you'll be without your luggage for several hours, so you just have to plan accordingly.

We stayed at AKL for our honeymoon and loved it. We saw many animals during the length of our stay, especially in the morning. Its quiet and the decor is gorgeous!

I've never stayed at Beach Club and would love to try it out one day. I really don't think there is a wrong decision here as both resorts are beautiful and have a different flavor.

Think of it this way - the one you don't pick this time, just gives you an excuse to come back and try out the other one next time ;)

The only thing that I never liked about the AKL is that it is SOO far away from everything compared to the other hotels. If you are taking the buses around you will have a slightly longer bus ride to get everywhere other than the AK. However Boma is one of our fav restaurants...

I agree with Lurkyloo that if you really are torn - do a split stay. Go to AKL for a night or two and do the AK park and dinner out there. Then switch.

We're staying at AKL for our honeymoon in June. But we don't really care about being close to everything. We aren't big into nightlife. We're planning on coming back for a rest in the afternoon so we can enjoy the balcony overlooking the savannah.

We're staying at AKL for our honeymoon! Although now that I'm thinking about it Beach Club is very convenient. I agree with Carrie, I think if you are torn between both you should stay at both. I have stayed at beach club and it's great and I have a friend who works at AKL and she says its great! Either way you can't go wrong.

AKL is our DVC home resort. I wasn't sure if I would like it since it is the farthest resort out but I LOVE it. That being said, I would love to stay at the BC. I say do a split stay. We did it our last trip and it's not very hard to do and is a nice break from the parks.

One thing that might make you feel better about a split stay - the new online check-in system will be in place by then, so you could check in to both resorts before you leave for your trip, saving you some time:

So I called my travel agent this afternoon just to get a quote on the price difference from AKL Savannah View and the BC room I have booked, and apparently AKL Savannah is all booked up the week we'll be there! So I guess my decision is made! Beach Club it is!

You will love the BC so don't think you are missing out really. We've stayed at the BC 7-8 times and just love it. The pool is awesome and you can just walk right to the International Gateway. I love the Boardwalk area too. DHS is a short boat ride away or you could walk it if you really wanted...we don't. :lmao:
