DD is 18 next week so I have been busy making her a photo fairy story of her life. I got a beautiful journal and started with Once upon a time .... describing DH & I meeting, marrying and then following through with pictures and momentoes from her life right through to her 18th Birthday where I finish with how glad we are to be here parents and what a wonderful young lady she has become (I have kind of missed out the getting drunk, throwing up etc etc :rotfl: ) It has been lovely to do but I have wept buckets as I have gone through all the photos etc and I reckon I've done a good job on the book as I showed it DH today and he actually shed a few tears too. It's really exciting that she has this momentous day coming up but I can't help feeling really sad that my baby is all grown up.

My mum did the same thing for me for my 18th and i know she was really emotional about it!

I think its a lovely idea though, and im sure she'll love it! I still look at min every now and then so its a great thing for her to be able to keep!

What a wonderful thing to make for her (and a great idea), I too would find that kind of thing emotional, going through all those great memories.

I bet she'll be thrilled with it :)

What a fabulous idea :goodvibes I'm sure she will be thrilled with it.

What a lovely idea. I'm sure if I did the same in a few years I'd be crying buckets!

Actually considering how bad I am at finishing projects perhaps I better start now!

what a fantastic present :)

i love looking at old photos they always bring back so many memories :)

Sounds Fab and worth shedding a tear or two (hundred ! ;) ) over.

Your daughter will love it. My Mum didi one for my 21st and it is now a treasured possession.

She even left a few blank pages at the end to add my ongoing memories to.

Oh I bet she'll love it. I'm currently scanning all our family photos and just seeing the photos alone is making me shed tears sometimes! Remember although this is the end of her childhood it's the beginning of her adult life and there's so many things yet to come. Graduating, buying her first house, marrying, having children and grandchildren of her own - and they're just the big things, there's millions of smaller day-to-day things to come now!

Just remember she may be all grown up but she will always be your little girl

That is such a lovely thing to do :cloud9:

what a lovely thing to do, sure she will love it ! they grow up too quick don't they??!! :sad2:

What a lovely idea, I'm sure she will love it.
