I'm Really confused

I guess I'm confused, I thought the purpose of a message board was to exchange thoughts, ideas, Knowledge , or opinions,

whenever I post here, I expect people to comment, whether they agree or disagree...I then process all that is said and sometimes I learn something new, sometimes I don't..

I've never felt anyone was jumping on me , or attacking me because they have a differing opinion..when that happens..I take the time to read my own post to see if maybe what I've said was wrong or not worded in the best way..especially if most people are disagreeing with me...

I don't think of running from the board , I simply take it for what it is...50,000 plus people with some similar and some different opinions...

I don't see how anyone can go to a messageboard with over 50,000 members and expect everyone to agree with them..


recently I feel like I'm in the minority because a growing number of people seem to be getting upset whenever people post differing opinions..



my life experience has been that if I ended friendships because of differing opinions, I'd be very lonely, because I ,more often than not, think outside the lines...

like me and my opinions , or not,,,,you'll always get caring, honest opinions...

No attack from here. I feel the same way. As long as the comments are not personal, I feel a difference of opinion is refreshing.

I totally agree. I have learned soooo much here, I ask questions and sometimes I don't get the response I want, but I get an honest one. I love this place and hope it is here for a long, long, time.

No attacks here for sure. That is exactly how I feel. I've learned so much from these boards. Mostly from lurking. It's amazing how my view can be so one sided so often. I find I often change my mind when I hear the opinion of others.

It's great you can take critiscizim (sp) whether it be good or bad. The problem is when you don't agree with the "gods" I think that is when the problems start.

I was never one to be politically correct. Never have been never will be. I am just a person that has something to say. If you like it fine if you don't fine. I guess I am one of the people you know where you stand with me. I appreciate people like that. I hate fake people.

sure it's good to be able to listen to all sides, and accept everyone's opinion. But it's another thing when it seems someone is giving a criticism not to help, but just for arguments sake. And it happens here often.

Like right now, I can accept the original post as is, or I can say it seems as if it was a post meant to criticize someone else, but in a non-confrontational way. Of course that's only my opinion.

I guess I don't understand posts like this, unless you want to start a thread where the thing you are complaining about will happen!

Although thre have definitely been times that I disagreed with someone, I think that is what makes us all unique because we do not fit in the same mold. It is disappointing to think you can't voice a different opinion, but I hope that we still can.

I am not sure anyone would want a world filled with others all like ME! LOL- Although, I get along pretty good with myself most days.

Well, I can understand "disagreeing" but sometimes people really do get personally "attacked" on this board.

Today in fact, I responded to a post which I disagreed on & stated so, but I thought I did it in a polite way....unfortunately, as the posts were mounting so were the "attacks" against the OP.

People should just be a little more considerate before they let their fingers fly over the keyboard. Treat others as you would have them treat you.

I feel like if you don't want to know what other think then don't ask what others think. I expect anything and everything when I post because I don't think people should just nod and agree with what is said. Besides, negative posts are probably better than no posts. Being ignored is even worse IMO.

I'm not complaining ..just stating the fact that I'm confused by people who post on a messageboard and get upset when people state opposing opinions...

if I wanted to be confrontational or criticize someone it would be obvious..as I originally stated...honest, caring..thoughts...nothing fake..nothing hidden....

Lover me or hate me..at least you know I'm real...
