After some recent "tweaking", I think I'm ready to have my itinerary reviewed by the DISperts. Please let me know what you think, such as if travel time between park/resort/restaurant is more than you'd be willing to sacrifice from "play" time:

9/17 - 9/22 WL Woods view room

Parks and dining
9/14 - Arrival

B - Light meal in the resort
L - Flame Tree (AK voucher) - early
D - Chef Mickey's

9/16 - Epcot
B - PSB (Breakfast voucher)
L - Beaches & Cream (Q&C) - late
D - Snack in park

9/17 - MGM
B - Cape May Cafe (Breakfast voucher)
L - Snack at WL after we check in
D - Hollywood & Vine (Fantasmic Dinner)

9/18 - MK

D - Snack in park

9/19 - MK
B - Light meal at WL
L - Pecos Bill's (Q&C) - early
D - O'Hana's

9/20 - MK

D - 1900 Park Fare

9/22 - Departure
B - Whispering Canyon Cafe

I'm thinking I'll probably cancel one or 2 of the big meals but wanted to have a PS ready if needed. It's just been hard narrowing down the options after reading so many good reviews by DISsers as well the menus on allearsnet.com. Also, since my DD isn't 3 yet, she's free at buffet/all you care to eat restaurants and we'll probably share meals ordered with the Q&C vouchers.

Looks good! Why are you going to Chef Mickey's twice? Maybe for variety you can try Ohana's for a character breakfast ??? Just a thought... Have a blast! We will there on Sept. 18-25 (Poly) and we are also going to take advantage of free buffets for DS!

[QUOTE/][B/]9/17 - MGM
B - Cape May Cafe (Breakfast voucher)

D - Hollywood & Vine (Fantasmic Dinner)

Will you have a car? I am just wondering what your plan regarding the transportation from AKL to BC is. Do the character breakfast buses run to the Non-park character meal restaurants? Actually, I would like to know this myself.:D

Thanks trish1970 and Oh, Kay!

Quite honestly, I can't remember why I scheduled dinner and breakfast at Chef Mickey's. I'll have to do some thinking and research to see if it would make sense to change.

Cape May is one of the breakfasts that I may drop because of transportation. I haven't decided yet about a rental car but I have budgeted for 2 taxi rides if needed to get from A to B more quickly than Disney transportation may go.

Maybe you should think about having one less day in MK and go to a Water Park! Just a thought!

Since you have a voucher for CM breakfast, why not drop the dinner on 9/15? The characters are the same, and the food by itself is not a sufficient reason to hike all the way to CR. If you are planning to visit Down Town Disney, that evening might be the time to try. Earl of Sandwich offers very good sandwiches at reasonable price--if the children can't find anything they like, there's always MacDonald's. You could also get ice cream sundaes at Ghiradellli's (sp?).

I have a 7 day PHP and am definitely planning some time at a water park. Since my DD isn't 3 yet, I've scheduled some time to relax and I think a toddler area of a water park might be an option on a day or 2 - plus a good way to get a break from the heat. We may also head over to DTD for an afternoon - if I think I resist the temptation to buy too much. We're definitely going to take a leisurely pace to our trip and will change our itinerary as needed to adjust to that pace. I just want to make sure to start with a full load then decide what to keep and what to cut.

I know that some people recommend doing all the other parks first, but honestly I couldn't wait till day 4 to do MK, and then 4 days in a row at MK, I think that's too much. We go to Magic Kingdom loads, but we don't do it all in one block like that.

i would probably go to MK first, since that's what you are all desperate to see (it's not Disney till you've seen that Castle), and then alternate MK with other parks, so that you get plenty of days at MK, which you want with a 3 year old, but you don't get overloaded with it.

Contrary to what you may hear, your 3 year old will enjoy all the other parks, mine loved them all at 3 (not so keen on MGM but will go), and would actually name Epcot as her favorite park.

We also like to do days of varying lengths - some all day'ers - not many - sometimes we go first thing in the AM and leave after the parade, other days we lie in, sleep, swim etc, and then head out to the park at lunch time or even later and stay until the park closes.

There's no Universal or Islands of Adventure in there.........you are really missing out!!

no - with a 3 year old I wouldn't do IOA or Universal either. Save them till she is older

I agree, we could not wait until day 4 to see MK. That is the first place we MUST see.

Also, that is alot of sit down meals with a toddler. We usually only plan one big meal a day and wing the rest. Of course we have many littles ones and they would much rather being riding rides than sitting in a restaurant.

TL is awesome and the kiddie area is fun and relaxing.

Have a great trip.:D

I had originally spread the MK days out more but a few things changed those plans:

1) Festival of the Lion King is only open the first day we're at the AKL. I wanted to go to AK while at that resport so we need to go 9/15 at least for part of the day but we may do a "split park" day.

2) PSB PS pretty much dictated which day for Epcot.

3) It kind of made more sense to me to save MK until we're at WL for more convenient transportation but we'll see if we can wait :).

Since we can park hop, though, we might spend a few evening hours at MK if DD and I can't wait :) I'm not too concerned about MK overload, though, as we went to DLR last year and did 5 days with only short periods at CA.

DD and I are "practicing" at sit down restaurants. I'm hoping that the ones I picked will have enough going on, characters, performers (O'Hana), etc. to keep her content. If not, we'll make changes as needed.

Thanks again to all respondents.
