to stay at the Contempory - if there are no openings, what price do you think I will get at other resorts through SoG?

It would depend on the type of hotel that you have in mind.
You know- Value, Moderate, Deluxe....

They do overflow to DTD also, and to Kissimee also. Decide on location, type, and you can always do what we did- we just started at the price point we had in mind, and kept asking until we ended up with the right price for the type.

Good luck!

Jodi,
We're staying at an overflow rate of $174 for a Poly GV. Other rates we were quoted when we made reservations several months ago:

CS, CB and PO $84 per night. WL for $134 per night. Standard room at BWI for $164 per night.

Jodi, How long have you been on the wait list? When I called in early Sept. they told me to call back end of Sept. for overflow rooms. Thanks, Joan

Joan S. -

SoG will book overflow rates within 30 days of your waitlist date.
If you want to waitlist for Oct. 1 (for example), you could call and find out about overflow rates at other hotels in the first week of Sept.
If you book more in advance, and are flexible about your dates, you could probably get a reservation. We had that problem in April- we forgot when Spring Break was next year.

SoG will call you if you're on the waitlist and the dates become available. If you DON'T hear from them and you're in the 30 day window- CALL THEM!!

Good Luck....

We're going in November, I started calling about 3 weeks ago, was put on the wait list then they called and said there were too many on the wait list & they had to take us off. One of my friends suggested I be persistent and I called the next day. I was able to get a ressie for 3 of the 5 days. Today I got my confirmation in the mail it was for 5 days! I called Disney (SoG was closed) and the CM told me it was a valid res. Tomorrow I will call to double check with SoG. I found that the discount rates thru Disney were cheaper than the overflow rates for some resorts. For instance SoG quoted me $139/night and Disney's was $119/night.

Good Luck

We got on the waitlist for a November room a few weeks ago, and found out last week that we got the room. Now I can always hope for an upgrade, too! :-)
