I'm Offically on Winter Break!!!

This is the time of year that I love being a teacher!!! I love all my students, but I'll love not seeing them for three weeks even more. Happy holidays everyone!

I'm on the other side. My DDs are now officially on vacation. When they got home today I was all misty eyed. I miss them so much when they are at school. I am so happy that I will have them home with me for the next 2 weeks. Enjoy your time away while I enjoy my time with!!!

My mom's a teacher who just got off, and we're going to have some bonding time in St. Augustine before Christmas. I love having a mom as a teacher. I also love being in college so I can laugh at her fo being in school while I'm off.

I have my angels home. I'm sure I'll get purely sick of it within a week or so, but for now, it's heaven.

I hope all the educators/students enjoy their break.

My kids actually had a couple of snow days right before the break started yesterday...so they're out of school even longer but they were disappointed though because they didn't get to attend any of the class parties that were planned.

Today is my first day of freedom! I've got some fun things planned for the next three weeks:

Tomorrow- Wicked at the Pantages in Hollywood
Monday- Head down to San Diego for Christmas with the family
Friday- Vegas with friends
1/4- Disney World!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky! There are no major breaks for us 911 people! Well, until I take my vacation for the cruise!

You guys that are out already are so lucky - some people say they can't wait for their kids to go back to school. I love when they are home!!!!! Plus vacation mom is so much more fun than school mom. Anyway they get out on Tues at 12:00 and I can't wait. We are going to have a fun break!!! Have fun everyone!​

Wow! Your break has begun already? Sheesh, three weeks?!! I am so jealous! lol We have to go in tomorrow (Monday) and for a half day on Tuesday. Then we are off until January 5! WOOHOO!

It's a great perk isn't it, tho we teachers in the UK only get 2 weeks off, not 3 weeks like you seem to.

3 weeks, how great!

it's 2 weeks here. of course I am not a teacher, so it's less than that for me. I do miss my old job-----we shut down for a week at christmas with pay (in addition to regular vacation/sick time pay), plus we had every other friday off (9/20 schedule) and it ended up being 2 weeks solid off. I miss it!

I'll be off starting Wednesday until next Tuesday and I might work from home next wed/thurs and then return 1/5. Not too shabby I guess. Heck, I am thankful to just have a job!

Actually, it is quite unusual to get three weeks for the hollidays. Los Angeles is the only school district I know that does it. That third week is pure bliss, and I gladly teach well into June to get it. Enjoy your break too!

I am completely jealous of everyone that gets a holiday break. I get 2 days - Christmas day and New Year's Day. If they could find a reason, they'd cancel those too. There are 2 pluses that I try very hard to remember this time of year - there is no traffic to fight on my way to work, and there are so few people here (many save their vacation to use at the end of the year - we go to disney other times of year) that I get lots done and still have time to DIS!

Oh what I wouldn't give for a snow day!!
