Well, I'm off for my summer vacation trip. Heading to Bowling Green tonight for 3 nights to visit Mammoth and other chessy tourist destinations. Then 4 nights in Santa Claus, Indiana. Its not Disney, but we are excited! I'll try to post some updates, not sure I can go all "ADP" style on here or I might get beat up :)

Wish me luck!

Have a great time! ..... Are you going to Holiday World? Is that in Santa Claus, Indiana? I've always wanted to check that place out. What is Mammoth though?

Never mind, I Googled Mammoth. And Oh my...Bowling Green does seem to be the home of cheesy tourist attractions! Looks like fun!

Have a great time Puck....And stay out of trouble! :)

Have fun Don. Will you be visiting the Corvette museum?

That is all I know about Bowling Green other then the college in northwestern Ohio.

Wait, Bowling Green Kentucky? You are so close to me. Come to Nashville!

Enjoy Holiday World - It's been awhile since I've bene there but it's always fun. They were in in the news recently with the new water coaster plus the the president of HW recently died . He was young. It's a family run park. THey just announced his brother is taking over CEO. Just glad to hear it's staying in the family.

Let us know how the new coaster is - it looks AWESOME....

I don't think we will do the corvette museum, if it were just me I would though. We are just using Bowling Green as our base for Mammoth Caves and other cheesy tourist stuff in the area.

I've been following all the stories about Holiday World, we are excited. Looks like a great place, clean, friendly and well run. Too bad about the owner, but one of the brothers stepped in and took over. The other brother owns the nearby campground.

Don, while you are in Santa Claus, If you want a nice restaurant to eat at that is not Theme Park food, check out this place in Jasper, http://www.schnitzelbank.com/, very good German/American food. It is about 15 miles north of I-64 off of Hwy 162 - 162 will veer left at Jasper - Do Not Turn - Go Straight into Jasper, the restaurant is on your Right a mile or so from that point.

Yes, Lisa, Holiday World is located in Santa Claus, Indiana.

When it originally opened in 1946 as Santa Claus Land, it was the World's First Theme Park. The same family owns & operates the park today.

Here is the history of the park: http://themeparks.about.com/library/parks/blholidayworldb.htm
