Hey there

We're roadtripping to the World Dec 10-20. We're on the DDP, and I made my ADR's ages ago, but now I'm second guessing some of them. Any advice would be great! (It's me, dh, ds (5 1/2) & dd (almost 4)

Here are the ADR's (the bold ones are my ???):

Tony's Town Square (Dinner 1st night - after driving in from Toronto)
Coral Reef (Lunch)
Sci-Fi (Dinner)
Cinderella's Royal Table - Dream Dining (Lunch)
Le Cellier (Lunch)
Concourse (Dinner)
Hollywood & Vine (Lunch w/ Little Einsteins)
Boma (Dinner)
O'hana (Breakfast w/ Lilo & Stitch on last day)

I think I need to have a dinner on our last night somewhere, or try and change a few to resort restaurants. What do you think?:goodvibes

I think I've read too much Dis! :rotfl2:

Thanks for your help,
Stephanie

I personally think you did a great job! LeCellier is hard to get, so if you want to try it, I'd keep it. I have heard wonderful things about Boma and we are trying it for the first time next month. AKL will be decorated too, so it's a nice atmosphere. Love 'Ohana too - breakfast and dinner. I wouldn't change anything! Sorry, not much help!

I would add something for your last night...that is always fun to do something special, but your ressies look good to me. I love Le Cellier
never eaten at Boma, but many love it - don't worry about these boards, many have opinions - but disney food is good. Oh never had O'Hana breakfast, but love the dinner. Don't worry, just have some fun!!!! Have a great time

First of I hope you have a great trip...that's a long drive.

I would leave everything alone...I loved BOMA's...we didn't like our waiter at Le Cellier and because it is so busy there service was slow...the food was really good though...I have never been to O'hana's but think it would be a great way to spend you last day...since you have no other character meals with Mickey! CP in the MK is also great...alot of fun and food is good.

Are you going to a park your last day?

They look great to me! :) We are trying Boma for dinner this Dec. and can't wait. O'hana will be really fun. Keep LeCellier too. If you did cancell and then change your mind, it will be highly unlikely that you could get another ADR.

We had lunch at Le Cellier, It was really really cold. The food was okay. It wasn't my favorite.

We had dinner at Boma and Breakfast at O'Hana in August, and we could not have been more pleased. Boma is a wonderful experience -- the food is a bit different, but familiar enough that you will enjoy the new tastes. The soup, I'm still smiling thinking about the carrot ginger soup...

O'Hana breakfast was one of our favorite meals. The food is delicious, everyone is still happy 'cause it's the beginning of the day, the kids get to meet characters, the juice is yummy, and you get Mickey waffles! I think it was my favorite character meal. We enjoyed it more (and ds ate more), than Chef Mickey's or LTT.

I'd keep those, and Le Cellier is really hard to get. I've never eaten there, but apparently plenty of people love it!

Oh, I'm glad you liked it! My kids just LOVE Lilo & Stitch (for how long? I don't know!) so we thought we would have a big breakfast for our last full day there and then get a CS meal for dinner, sit by the castle and watch "The World" go by!

Our last day is Magic Kingdom, probably a CS meal for dinner, the kids will fall asleep in the stroller (Thank-You Mountain Buggy Urban Double!!!!) so dh and I can soak up some magic for the drive home!

I thought a Canadian going to Le Cellier was silly really, but I've heard such good things about the food! But maybe I should try another country? The UK maybe? I guess I'll keep it.

Thanks so much for your help! I just noticed my ticker and now I'm getting excited!!!!!!!:cheer2:

Peace
Stephanie

Hey, you are going to be there when we are!! If you are going to add something I would recommed you dine at the Grand Floridian ( character meals ) or the Wilderness Lodge Whispering Canyon- due to the Christmas decorations. We went a few years ago and ours girls loved it. We have eaten at each of the 3 restaurants you have chosen and love them. They are each wonderful.

:santa:

The one that concerns me is the first night, not sure when you plan to arrive, but just be sure you have the energy (read patience for parents) to get to the park for the day. You'll be wrapping up a long drive from Canada. Might be better to hit the park fresh after a Disney dream night. If you decide relaxing at the resort is better consider a resort dinner, say Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. The kids get to see Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto, w/o going to the park.

We enjoyed Boma's. It has a wonderful decor and vibe, the food is good... there are many, many new things to try and a few "staples" in case you don't like the new things! :goodvibes Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch was cute and the food was good. The kids are all invited to join in a parade with the characters, it is fun to watch! I personally think both are good choices for you, we are doing both again on our next trip! We don't have little kids (one 16 year old) and we still enjoyed the breakfast! :thumbsup2

I certainly would keep the ones you have in bold, they are among the restaurants that are sought after.. Good luck with your decision...

An early ADR at CP for supper would be a great choice for your last day if you wanted to do one last magical meal before you left...you could go after the parade...the kids march around the restaurant and it's alot of fun...we went at 4:15 and loved it...

It's funny that you say that because once we told our waiter we were Canadian we found he got very rude and wasn't that interested in serving us...even the table next to us noticed it...if I was going to cancel one it would be this one...we'll never eat here again...even though the food was...there are long waits because it is so poplar...we found much better choices in EPCOT and there is even some fablous counter service in EPCOT. The Garden Grill is a great place to go with children too...

We went to CM's after 14 hours of flying:scared1: not sure what I was thinking...our ressie was for 6:15 and it took over an hour to seat us...then the food and service was not good...not a great way to start our vacation...however we went over to the MK afterwards and watched the fireworks that was really nice and relaxing and a magical way to start our vacation...next time I would just go to MK and have counter service our first night...no waiting for a meal or to be seated...and we could watch the parade and fireworks!

Okay, good to know! I won't mention the Canadian thing!

Good point! I didn't think about the waiting around to be seated and then waiting for food . . . might think of anther TS for later on in the week,

I don't know much about the Grand Floridian restaurants (I would like to stay there though!) how are the character meals there? I have heard the decoarations are great! As for Whispering Canyon, I don't think it's really our idea of a good time, maybe when the kids are older and can understand the sense of humour!

On our kids' first trip to WDW we did Chef Mickey's for dinner the first night. As the PP said, it is a GREAT way to get started without having to hit the parks. You could add a monorail ride to the mix as well.

While it's not a character meal, we LOVE the GF Cafe at the Grand. There is something for everyone on the menu. Not over the top great food, but good, with a beautiful atmosphere. Just another thought.

I agree with everyone else. Don't give up the ADR's you have - they are great. I always do the same thing to myself about a month before the trip - start itching to do a little tweaking to the schedule. Restrain yourself and enjoy - you've done a great job!:goodvibes

First, I think youcan always go crazy second guessing ADR's.

Second, Le Cellier and Boma are great, in my opinion. I've not done 'Ohana, CR, Sci-Fi, or H&V - and I've been to WDW quite a few times!

I wouldn't do CRT every trip, but it's well worth doing once.

If there was one ADR on your list that I might try to change myself it would be Tony's. We just ate there at the end of September, and I did not think it was very good. My expectations weren't very high either. That way on your first night you could focus on hitting rides, and on your last night you could have anice dinner - but see what's available before you cancel.

I like the idea of resort dining a fair amount. The reason is that after all the mayhem of the parks, eating at a resort is generally a little more quiet and relaxing. It's good to have a little quiet. Be sure to allow yourself time to walk around AKL when you go there! After dinner, head out to the campfire! Furthermore, I see only three meals that are at resorts - that's not very many at all.

One thing I would suggest, is that the night you're dining at Boma, driving there is a good idea - unless you're coming from a park before dinner and going back to one after dinner. If you think you'll want to head back to your resort after dinner (Unless AKL is your reosrt) then driving your car is the way to go.

That sound like a great idea - I'll look into it.

Thanks for that review, I haven't heard super things about Tony's, I think if I can get something else I'll cancel this one.

We plan on driving almost everywhere! That's one of the benefits of driving all the way there. That and we can pack whatever we want however we want!

Thanks everyone for your input! If there was a resort restaurant I shouldn't miss, what would it be?:flower3:

Peace,
Stephanie

Thanks soooo much for all of your input!:jumping1:

I've kept all my original ADR's, but cancelled Tony's Town Square.

I tried to get Whispering Canyon, but they only had really late times availalble. So we went with Mama Melrose instead for one of our MGM days.

I think I'll try to post a dining review when we get back!

Merci Beaucoup! (& a two cheek kiss!):jumping1: :jumping1:

Sorry you had such a bad experience at CM's. We had breakfast there and waited a bit for a table, but nothing over the top. Also the characters interacted with the kids while we were in the waiting area. I noticed two things, one your ADR was probably at the height of the dinner rush, lots of tired families happy for the seat, AC and slow to rotate out. Secondly I've noticed on these boards that often when a Disser has not enjoyed a meal there is often a complaint about either the wait time or surly/rude/absent server. Glad you enjoyed Wishes though.

We chose an 8pm dinner at Narcoossee's for a first night meal. Great food, service and we got to see the Electric Water Parade and Wishes from the deck. We then hit MK for early hours the next day. We will work in Chef Mickey's for dinner on our next trip. If we don't like it, we'll go back to breakfast as my nephew will probably never allow us to skip CM's!

I think they look great with the exception of SciFi, it truly is disgusting there as far as dinner goes. Of course this is just my opinion, we've had lunch there before and it wasn't bad, but dinner was the most worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant hands down. The desserts however, we're great and the appetizers were not bad, it was just the very (and I mean very) limited entree' choices that are disgusting.:scared:

Otherwise, you're choices look fabulous to me you've made some great ones!!
