Well we just got back yesterday from a long weekend at All Star Music. :thumbsup2 Somehow...my DD(4)'s stuffed dog that she has slept with since she was a baby got left behind at the hotel (probably mixed up in the sheets). :sad2:

I called the hotel and they don't have him in lost and found. The super nice CM I talked to said it would be a couple of days before the laundry was done but he could be in there.

It's going to be a loooong week in our house. I really hope they find him, I've searched the web and cannot find the same one. I feel like the worst mom ever.:guilty:

awwww, poor thing, I think my best friend (makdyn) will post to this one if she sees it, when she went to Disney last year, her dd who was 3 at the time left her stuffed elephant which was her favorite thing in the world on the monorail, they looked all over for it, and then called Disney when they got home, they never found him.:sad1:

My dd8 had a blanket when she was younger, she didn't loose it in Disney, but we lost it one day and never found it, I think I was more sad than her , so I know how you feel.

Good Luck I hope they find it for you.:wizard:

OMG I feel for you. I did the same thing a few years ago. :confused3
Try eBay.....there is a page you can post "Want it" items. I rec'd a reply and actually bought 3 "replacements" so we had 1 for bed, car & vacationing! I have since wrecked 1 attempting to wash it! :sad2:

I can sympathize. We lost my dd's "red heada baby" on our last road trip to WDW. I think she fell out at a rest stop in the dark...we tried to laugh about it, telling her the doll ran out of the car to go on another family's vacation but I did have to find a similar one on the internet as soon as we got home.

Can you post a picture? Maybe someone on the DIS can help!

Keep looking on the web - if you know the manufacturer email them asking for help. They should be able to give you more information (product name) and maybe even what stores they've sold it to.

Good luck! DD's Dolly is the first thing packed every trip...we keep as close tabs on Dolly as on DD most trips!

When my boys were young, I kinda wanted them to be attached to something. It always looked so sweet. Youngest DS had a Ronald McDonald doll and slept with that occasionally though. This is a great reason why I'm happy they don't have a favorite blanky or stuffed animal. Hopefully someone will run across it and turn it in. Good luck. :flower3:

This happened to us in 2004 when we took my nieces. We were told the same thing, check back in a couple days when the laundery is done. After being given the run around my DH called the manager. The manager said that was wrong info we were given and that there is no way it would be recovered because once the housekeepers take the sheets they are loaded into trucks and put through industrial machines. If it is rolled up in a sheet it would not be found and the stuffed animal would probably be torn apart by the industrial machines.

I am not saying this to hurt your feelings but so you don't keep getting false hope. We kept getting false hope and passing that on to my niece, that was worse than anything. The manager felt so bad about all the promises so he asked for my niece's address. Cinderella sent her an autographed picture and a note saying how sorry she was the she lost moosie (her stuffed animal) but sent her a huge stuffed Eyore because he needed a home.

I hope it turns out differently for you.

Good luck.

You are not the worst mom ever  . Things like this happen.

My DS still sleeps with his puppy and after many late night trips back to grandma's or the cousins for Puppy, I understand where you are coming from ;) . Fortunately my sister had the same dog but with a different tie on it, and since her DS wasn't interested in it, gave me his for a back-up :goodvibes . With my DD I learned I had to be prepared if her security item got left somewhere and had a back-up. From day one I fostered a particular blankee and had about 15 of them that I rotated around and used while the other's were being washed. Because I did this she just needed to have the same type of blanket not the exact same one every time. When she got older she even began asking for a the particular one that struck her fancy that night, and would ask for the frog one or the bunny one.

Keep looking for a back-up one and hopefully they will find the one that got left behind. In the mean time try to get her to substitute another one she has at home, or let her go to Build-a-Bear or another toy store to pick out a new one. It won't be easy, but perhaps it will work. Then get her a back-up to the one she picks out. If that doesn't work, yes it will be a long week, but eventually she will get used to it. On the bright side you could break her of the habit of needing something specific to sleep with and never have to worry about this again :) .

Don't sweat it, mom.
Things like this happen all the time. If it's any consolation, they will be teenagers soon and you can really make them unhappy.

Ignore my sarcasm, my teenager is screaming at me because I won't let him drive 90 miles to NYC with 4 other 16-17 year old with a teenage driver who has only been driving 9 months. That's so not going to happen.

((((HUGS)))) I am so hoping for a good outcome for you. You are not a bad mother. This has happened in some way or another to every single one of us. And my goodness you lost it at Disney ! Keep us posted and take care !

Post a pic, maybe we can help! Definately check ebay, lots of loveys are "recovered"/replaced there.

DS had his favorite blankie and I had 2, did loose one of them eventually.

DD 2 only needs her belly button to sleep. Silly little girl, but at least she picked somehing VERY hard to loose.

eliza61, the WEEK I got my drivers license I drove 3 hours across the state with 3 of my 15/16 yr old friends to go to an REM concert, granted I'd been driving extensively on a permit for 2.5 yrs, but WHAT were my parents thinking? When the concert got out there was this awful thick fog. I drove 30mph on the interstate for 45 miles to get to my sisters apartment, what a LONG night! Thank goodness I didn't have to go all the way home. We tried a hotel but they wouldn't rent to us since we were under age.

I actually could have written your post last week. We lost my daughters two bunny lovies and I couldn't find them anywhere. It was a long night. Low and behold, would you believe they showed up the next day. They had been left at my sons school parking lot (they must have fallen out of the car during drop off ) and someone returned them.

I hope you get the same happy ending. I lost my favorite dog in a hotel stay when i was little girl, it was rough.

My DD (12) used to carry around a stuffed cow in a ballerina outfit (she called it her moo-moo ballerina) Well we went to Storybookland for a Christmas thing, and she asked my neice to hold it for her and they were on a little ferris wheel, well my neice left it on the ride, and no one realized it til we were at the next ride. Ran back and guess what? Well it wasnt there, lets face it, it was not Disney! LOL She was sad and cried, and still to this day still reminds me of her moo-moo ballerina and how her cousin left it on the ride in Storybookland! It didnt damage her at all, she is 12 and just fine with it! LOL!!!!

Be thankful that it wasn't your husband that lost it! My DH lost my DS3's "minkie" (blanket) at an airshow earlier this summer. I think I was more upset than my son!!:sad2: :sad2: I brought him to the store he had gotten it at as baby (thankfully they still make them) and he picked it up and said, "This will be fine-you dont have to be upset anymore!" I nearly died! I am going at the end of the month and I would be happy to check a lost and found for you! :goodvibes

Any chance that a Disney stuffed animal with a note from her favorite character that they needed to borrow her animal or the animal wanted to live at Disney or something to that effect might work?

I'm so sorry - it stinks when we do things, however unintentionally, that hurt our little ones! If only we could be perfect... :flower3:

We left a blankie in Rehoboth. But, returned after check in and the housekeeper had found it and it was folded up waiting for us.
I think it is a matter if mousekeepers find it before stripping or during.

I hope it can be replaced. I know if Boo boo kitty got lost it would be devestating for me as he is on the third generation now.

You are not the worst mother in the world!

Our story: On our trip in 2001 we had left our stuffed bear behind at our room at POR. Didn't even realize this until we were on the Wonder and had left shore. We desperately made a phone call (not cheap by the way :goodvibes ) to the resort to let them know what happened, if it was recovered. They told us they would check with mousekeeping re: things. After we were home we received a box in the mail from Disney and who's inside but our bear!
Good luck!

Well, DD12 (then 4) left her beloved Pluto in a dressing room in MAUI! As we had already returned the rental and were heading for the airport (we were with a group), there was no way DH was going to be able to go back for it. When we called the store, they had found Pluto and he was "waiting" to be picked up. We gave the manager our cc # and asked them to ship it home.

Imagine our surprise, when a FedEx box was waiting on our doorstep in Ohio! The store, Hilo Hattie's, got it to us overnight and never charged us. With all our extended flight time, Pluto had the best, and quickest, seat money could buy!
