I'm an official "Scoopie"!!
Fred and I were finally able to get to one of Scoop's seminars yesterday. It was our first since before the November cruise. So it had been a while.
It was alot of fun. I love the new area and the tables. And Scoop showed us his collection of Millinium 2000 pins. They were fantastic! He had one with Pooh that is a must have HG for me now. Thanks Scoop, I think!
I also played "pingo" for the first time. That was fun. I was one away, when three people said "PINGO"! Norm was first, and was awarded a Scoop pin. Then he gave one to two women from California, who he said were known to pin trade with kids alot and such. Then as I was sitting there, he turned and said, I better give Winnie hers since she is here. He also noted that I don't come often because of going to "meetin" on Sundays.
I guess I was a bit taken back, as I had wondered what I would do if I was awarded one. I always imagined, I'd scream in delight, or even cry. I was actually believe it or not, pretty quiet and yes, even speechless!! Hard to bellieve...I know!!! It is so pretty, it has the white "glittery" background. And Scoop had to add a white spot on Mickey's nose and he of course signed the back. It is something I will always cherish. I think in a way, I feel kinda underserving of it as of late, cause we've been out of the pin "Loop", and people have been doing, saying and giving me things to say and show they care. I wish I had a Scoop pin to give them. They are "Scoopies" too.
I've had a sweet stranger from Alabama send me a care package of Pooh stuff, I had a fellow at the contemporary give me the mystery Chip and Dale pin that came out that day, when I told him we had to leave early cause my mom had fallen, and had to get home to Daytona. I've had some of my close pin pals give me pins since I wasn't able to get to parks and get them, Thanks to Ed,Donna, Michele, June and Bob. They are all pin Angels!! And some they just gave me in love!! Then yesterday at event, a sweet lady I traded with at events and such, saw me and came over to tell me how bad she felt that I had be taken adavantage of in a trade the week before, and proceeded to give me a Winnie the Pooh mug from Tokyo Disneyland. Oh and just recently, I backed out of a trade after reading some info from Jeff at pinclubs. He asked what the trade was. He traded for the pin I was wanting to trade for and is sending it to me. I told him to please find something in my traders and that I should be sending HIM a pin after what he's been through with his trade. He said no, that it was a gift. A true "Scoopie" for sure!!
I know it's been said before, but I am so very thankful to this hobby that has given me lots of warm fuzzies, fantastic friends, and lots of magical memories. I look forward to many more.
And last but not least, Thank you Scoop for seeing something of value in me to deem me worthy of what I consider an honor. Thanking you for making me a "Scoopie".
Blessings as always,
Winnie
