I'm new to this Website, Hello!

Hello fellow DVC'ers! I am brand new to the site and amazed all of this was here and I didn't know. My family has points at BWV and BCV since 2000. I was able to go on the first member cruise and may have met some of you. If so, hello again. If not, we always have the future.
Really just wanted to say THANKS, it is so nice to find people like me who live for this stuff. I think having a warm smile 24/7 is a good thing and that's what I find at Disney, particularly DVC.
I can tell I must catch up with the vernacular as I've not seen so many acronyms, I thought my IT profession was tops, but this might be it. Let me hear from ya!

Welcome to the DIS emacman! It sounds like you will fit in around this group just fine! We all love Disney and DVC! Be careful though, hanging around this board can get very addictive and you get nothing else accomplished, its just that is the next best thing to actually being at WDW.

Actually i needed to go to the official DVC website so I punched in DVC on Google and noticed it. I can see what you are saying about all kinds of information. It is staggering. I also found the rent/buy points which would be really handy if you need a couple extra points or need to get rid of some points. I'm not sure where it was reached that $10 per point was the going rate though. I'm not sure how they get there.
The feedback on the rooms and resorts is really helpful. I see discussions on towels, soap, trash bags, tips in the park, all of which is helpful. I can't believe all of the little animated signature things. Those are pretty funny. Counters to mark time until a trip. Where does all that stuff come from? This is pretty fascinating.

I had a friend who sold, skip that...rented, some of his unused points for dues amount that year plus the reservation fee was passed on. I thought that seemed fair considering he still owned the points for ensuing years and was, in effect, made whole for monies paid the year he couldn't use them. Maybe the person who bought them was just really lucky?
