Hello
My name is Krissy Im a mom of 3 from NY. Im Looking to take my children to Disney World in March. Im hoping that many of you will be able to help direct me in the right direction with questions I may ask over the next 53 days. Like I said I am a mother of 3. I have 3 girls ages 10, 9 and 6, my 9 year old has autism and I want this Disney World experience to be the best for her and my other children :)
So I would like to say Nice to meet you all and I hope you all can help us with our planning of our trip and Disney World experience.
Thank you;)

You're definitely in the right place to find out everything and anything you need for your trip. Given the ages of your girls you might want to look into the Fairy Godmailer thread. This is a place where people volunteer to send postcards out prior to your trip to help get the kids excited. I have done this many times and I think I have as much fun doing it as the kids do receiving it. If I was going before you and your family I would offer :goodvibes.

Welcome to the DIS! You have came to the right place for all your Disney questions. :wizard:

:welcome: to the DIS. You will find a multitude of information to help you in your planning.

You may want to check out the board that deals with DISabilities. If you do a search on that board for autism, you will find some threads/posts that may help you plan the best trip possible!

This board will do its best to inform and confuse you to the best of its knowledge. Enjoy.

Welcome to the Dis! I have a fellow TA friend that has a son with Autism, and they love going to Disney! I agree that you should check out the DISAbilities board.

I hope you enjoy it here and I am sure you will find all the help you could ask for here. Everyone is extremely generous and helpful in just about every category of questioning. :goodvibes

:lmao: Ain't that the truth!!! :thumbsup2

Butterfly, make sure you read through our other forums in this Trip Planning section. You find lots of information that way-- a lot that you didn't even know you needed to know. Then when you have questions try to post them in the forum that is most appropriate-- those that post there are often the unofficial experts and give you the best answers.

And as someone else mentioned, please do check out or disABILITIES forum. There are so many there that have done this trip with their autistic children and are full of advice and wisdom to help others out. Disney is extremely overwhelming and overstimulating in the best of circumstances and for an autistic child it can overload them so quick. It is best to be prepared beforehand.

Have a great trip! A bad day at Disney is 100x better than a good day anywhere else! :goodvibes
