Hi everybody! This seems like a great site to get some advice on Disney weddings...so here's my question...

I have ordered the DVD about Disney weddings but not received it yet, and I am 100% sure that I want my wedding at Disney World. I need some advice about the ceremony and reception locations! Here is what I want in a nutshell...

-about 50 guests
-a very relaxed, laid back ceremony and reception
-preferably outdoors for both..with lots of palm trees and water!
-a ceremony at sunset

I would love to have my wedding outside at the Polynesian, but I know only intimate weddings can be there...however, this gives you an idea of what I am looking for. I was leaning towards SBP for the ceremony, but have no idea about the reception. Are there any reception locations that are both indoor and outdoor? At the Boardwalk ballroom, do guests have access to the boardwalk outside? Are there any other outdoor locations that are not in Epcot? Any suggestions would be great! Thank you!

:welcome: You will find this site is invaluble when planning your Disney wedding, Im having an intimate wedding and Im not doing a full reception (just a champagne toast) because I'm having a reception when I get home in England! But if you want something informal why not have a dessert party at epcot for illuminations or at MGM for fantasmic. There are plenty of people on here who can advise you on these! And sunset pointe sounds like it would be perfect for the type of ceremony you want! good luck! :goodvibes

Congrats and Welcome! I orginally invited 50 guests and I am now down to 28 but.....my reception is at the Yacht Club - Asbury Hall. The cocktail hour is outside on the Asbury Patio and then we move inside for dinner and dancing.
Hope this helps!

I'm thinking SeaBreeze Point would be the best location for your ceremony since it's outside on the water, and can accomodate more guests than Sunset Pointe. Not sure if they do sunset weddings there (i'm pretty sure they do?) but you could have the ceremony in late afternoon and then go have a dessert party at one of the outside terraces in Epcot and watch Illuminations. Based on all of the preferences you listed, i think this might be close to what you're looking for?

And you could still incorporate the Poly into some of your wedding events, maybe by having a welcome dinner or rehearsal dinner at 'Ohana, or getting some pics taken out on the beach before or after the ceremony.

Happy planning!

Hello and welcome - My wedding was November and if you look you can find my trip report Allison and Josh- anyway we had about 55 people - I had a Mad Hatter Tea at the GF Convention - it is a small reception with a patio so that would be an option (there is also a room like that at the BW maybe St James not 100% on that) Had my rehearsal Dinner at the GF Summer House which is outside just behind the GF Lobby - it was beautiful right near the beach looking out at the Wedding Pavilion -
The my ceremony was at the Wedding Pavilion - granted no Palms but there are many around for pictures after...so consider that! Finally my reception was at Ariels which is at the Beach Club - It was wonderful - a small place and just perfect for us-

There is also Shipwreck Beach at the BC - I am not sure if it can be used for a wedding reception but I looked into that for my rehearsal dinner but it was already booked for a convention - there is a lot to consider- but you have come to the right place!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! Just wanted to say that Disney would be the perfect place for the wedding you are looking for!! There are just so many options that can be worked out. When I was on my honeymoon at the GF, we saw a luau party at the Summerhouse, I believe. You could have your ceremony at the beach at the WP and then go to the summerhouse or the beach at the GF and have your reception out there!
