Didn't mean to turn this into a mug thread.

Sorry about hijacking the thread.

haha I was just joking around! I'm sure the OP doesnt mind. No one is bashing her poor innocent question anymore and she got it answered! :flower:

Why are we talking about mugs on a pool hopping thread? :goodvibes

LOL :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Pool hoping, mugs, fanny packs, smoking, "what not to wear", bring it on!! lol

Tlc should make a new show...."WHAT NOT TO WEAR--AT DISNEY WORLD"

I recommend breakfast at Boma's. After breakfast, lay out four beach towels over 4 lounge chairs. Don't forget to bring your All Stars refillable mugs! You can fill them up at Mara! Spend the day at Animal Kingdom. Oh, if you have a kid that's 3, just say he's 2. He'll be FREE!! Come back to AKL around 2 pm. The pool will be busy, but you will have chairs available because you were smart enough to save them after breakfast! Have a nice dinner at Jiko and go back to All Stars for a good night's sleep! Repeat the same process at the Beach Club the next morning, except you can spend your day in Epcot. ;) :rotfl:

Sorry, OP. I just felt like getting silly. The official answer to your question is no. However, if you still want to try it, don't post about it on the DIS. This can be a touchy subject for these boards. :goodvibes

AHHH but you can't pool hop at SAB so she wouldn't be able to work this one.

Sorry ... I'm kind of continuing on the mug thing ... what does the reference to "purchasing the refillable plan" mean? Disney now has a way of letting you use an old mug and pay for refills for that trip??? :confused3 How the heck would they ever control that, unless all of the drink dispensers were converted to bar codes? Did I miss something major here ???

For the OP, no you cannot pool hop. But maybe for another trip (and YES, you WILL go back 'cause the place is addictive), you can try renting DVC points for your room at a deluxe, and this will give you the privilege of pool hopping to other resorts, excluding BC and AKL. We stayed on points in Jan so I asked the CM checking us into VWL about this, because of course I've read on the boards that "renters" aren't entitled to this privilege ... I was told emphatically YES, and that all I need is my room key that said "DVC Member" on it. :Pinkbounc

What? You mean no one has told her?! You know, about the pixie dust they magically dust you with at check in? It can't be washed off in the shower even with soap. You'll be fine going in the pool at your own resort but try getting in another resort's pool, and well....there's a chemical reaction that I hear isn't pretty to see. ;) Disney is very thorough you know.

If you're going to pool hop, be sure to save a chair with a towel so you have someplace to sit for breastfeeding...

Not a Disney policy, just me thinking out loud. The whole mug refill policy relies on people being honest anyway. If they've purchased the plan, then they should be able to fill any container that they have with them. The only way that I can see to ensure that only those who have purchased the package get it, is to do away with the drink dispensers. Similar to DCL's old soda policy, when you purchased it, they put a sticker on your room key. With today's technology, they can even code it into the room key (just like they do with park tickets). Anyway, the soda, icee's, whatever, are returned to behind the counter and the CM's give you your refills. Obviously, when they swipe your room key, they'll see that you have the refillable package purchased.

So, you can pool hop just don't post it here right? Except for the deluxe or anywhere?
Is like going to the movies, i don't know how many times i've seen people going from one movie to another without paying, i don't really care i guess is all about being honest, but with the pool hoop thing what's the BIG deal if you're staying at the FW/Asports etc, and want to go check it out at the all star movies or elsewhere. The pools are big!! LOL the towel thing is just to funny :rotfl:

In all seriousness part of the higher cost of the hotels is b/c of the pools. Notice how there are no slides or waterfalls at the value resorts? If anyone could go anywhere they wanted SAB would be entirely overcrowded and BC/YC/BCV guests would have a hard time getting charis and what not at their own hotel pool. It's not the issue of one family pool hopping its the fact that it would be much more than that!

As for saving chairs...if youre in the pool at the time I dont see why you cant save a chair. I mean obviously if people think that they can put down a hotel towel in the morning and come back after lunch to have a seat waiting for them well theyre just bananas!!! lol

When we stayed at Ft.W cabins last summer, we had to sign a paper stating that we would only have 1 vehicle parked and that we are not to use any other resort swimming pools.

Your post and this thread reminded me of a funny situation i had on my recent trip. When i checked in the WL the map was for WL, WLV, and Ft. Wilderness but there were clear statements about who could use which pools and that WL can't use ft wilderness and vice versa. So i was at the pool and it was really really crowded. DH, DS and I were sharing one chair and the family next to us was 5 people sharing 2. The women started a conversation with me about people saving the chairs in the morning and about people getting chairs for every family members including kids who never sit down. I empahsis that you started the complaints. she was very friendly and we chatted about a number of things one of which turned out to be about the fact that they drove down and were staying in their RV at Ft. Wilderness? I didn't say anything but was laughing inside.

OMG..I am still laughing....not only at the OP's question, but absolutely LOVED the comment about the breastfeeding...so, we went from pool hopping, to refilling mugs to refilling our children from a breast..... :jumping1:

We have prolly scared the OP so much they will never venture back to these boards again!

Oh boy...I'm very sorry that I ask something that is was so insulting..... I didn't know...But why we cann't ask question without being insulting here??? Some are doing it very smoothly..... insulting....

Thanks anywat for the ones who answer nicely!!! :sunny: :flower: :sunny: ;) ;)

Looking back, I wouldn't say that any of the replies were insulting, just poking fun at an extremely hot button topic. You posted that you knew pool hopping was not permitted, I guess I don't understand what other response you were looking for.

An honest question and good for you for asking instead of just doing. By staying only in the pool at your resort just means no overcrowding. No one would like to be told the pool was at capacity at their own resort because others were using it.
