:earboy2: Hi, we will stay at the all-sport resort with the dining plan. We already did the reservation for the dining, and all of our dining are at the deluxe resort (Animal kingdom, Beach club...) So we are wondering if when we are going for the dining, can our kids take a litlle dip in the poool, before we go eat??? I'm sure it's not permit, but can we do it safely??? Without beiing ask to leave?

Thanks

Beach Club would be a definite no since they require wristbands. Really, the answer is no to all other resort's pools, but honestly when we stayed at the Poly last year there were tons of people in the pool that were not staying there, and not ashamed about bragging about it. That's one of the main reasons we are not going back to the Poly this year.

Personnally I wouldn't feel comfortable swimming somewhere I was not allowed too, whether it was "safe" for being asked to leave or not. But that is just me.

Welcome to the Dis!

I will warn you that this is a hot topic here, so beware of the reactions you will likely get!

No, hotel pools are only for those paying to stay at that hotel and use those amenities. People pay big bucks to stay at certain resorts so they can use those pools. At Beach Club, you must have a wristband to even use the pool area. At other hotels, they have been known to come and ask for resort ID and ask people to leave - a very embarassing situation to be in, I'm sure! Also, there usually isn't an easy way to shower and get redressed in order to go to dinner at most hotels because they are not designed for people to poolhop. You using another hotel pool at Disney is just like going down to the Marriott in your city for a swim - which most people would never even dream of doing.

In order to ensure hotel guests room at the pool they are paying to use, and in order to follow Disney's rules, it's best to stay at your own hotel pool.

Enjoy your visit!

You're paying for dinner, not for the use of the pool. I'd suggest you take a swim at the ASports before showering and dressing for dinner. That way the kids won't be itching all through dinner from the chlorine drying on their skin and you won't need to carry a backpack to put the wet bathing suits in.

Going now to check on my popcorn supply.

I love the dancin' banana!

So what do you think, post #2 will be about refillable mugs? pirate:

The only exception to the rule is if you happen to be DVC members. Then depending on the season you are permitted to pool hop to all pools except Stormalong Bay at the Beach.Yacht Club and the pool at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Asking such a hot topic on your first post is just bad luck. Don't worry if people get heated over it, you didnt know. This is a place to ask questions like this. However I will warn you before you ask the other most heated topic on the boards...do not attempt to use old refillable mugs from past trips. this is a big no no! and if you do, dont mention it here! hahahah! o and btw welcome to the dis! :wave2:

along these same lines, I'd suggest you don't ask about bringing a crock pot or trying to fit 5 into your ASports room.

When we stayed at Ft.W cabins last summer, we had to sign a paper stating that we would only have 1 vehicle parked and that we are not to use any other resort swimming pools.

Not trying to stir anything up here but why is it such a big deal to bring old mugs. PLEASE DON'T FLAME!!!! :) :flower:

While at the BC 2 weeks ago, I went to get coffee 2 times a day everyday. CM asked me why I didn't buy a mug and I told her that I had 3 mugs from last year and DH and DS had already purchased their mugs this year and I didn't think that we really needed to have 6 BC mugs at home. SH told me that I should have brought my mug from last year to use this time.

The mug is good only at the resort purchased and only for the length of the stay on which it is purchased. The CM was wrong to suggest it was "legal" to bring an old mug back.

I give this thread about 2 more hours before its shut down! haha all the hot topics on one thread how lovely!

We were at the resort that they were purchased at. Not a problem though, I didn't have a problem plunking down 2.12 for a cup of coffee 2 times a day. I was on vacation. DH and DS though purchased mugs, DS refilled his 2 maybe 3 times and DH never refilled his. We had gone grocery shopping the first day and purchased sodas and juices for the week so we really didn't need the mugs. So IMO they were a waste of money.

Perhaps she was simply implying that you could have purchased the refillable plan and instead of getting a new mug, which you didn't want, simply use your old mug for the refills.

AHHH. Never thought of that. That's a great idea, I definitely would have done that. That is what I will do next year. I will bring the mugs and then find out aboout purchasing the refill plan, I'll just carry the receipt around with me all week. Cool, thanks for the idea.

Yes you were using them at the same resort, so far so good, but then you were using them not on the trip when they were purchased which is another stipulation of the mug policy, so you have a no go there.

o no this thread has been hijaked from the original pool question!!!! :earseek: :rotfl2:

Didn't mean to turn this into a mug thread.

Sorry about hijacking the thread.

I think you need to go back and re-read. She never said that she brought the old mugs with her, just that she had them at home. Her DH and DS did buy new mugs, she chose not to because she's not a mug collector. Instead, she paid $2.12 for each cup of coffee. The CM suggesting that she simply bring her mug back next year, may have been implying that the refillable package could be purchased without having to get a new mug. Does it make a difference what container is used to hold the drinks once the package has been purchased for that trip?
