I'm new here! Need info for swimming

In all seriousness part of the higher cost of the hotels is b/c of the pools. Notice how there are no slides or waterfalls at the value resorts? If anyone could go anywhere they wanted SAB would be entirely overcrowded and BC/YC/BCV guests would have a hard time getting charis and what not at their own hotel pool. It's not the issue of one family pool hopping its the fact that it would be much more than that!

As for saving chairs...if youre in the pool at the time I dont see why you cant save a chair. I mean obviously if people think that they can put down a hotel towel in the morning and come back after lunch to have a seat waiting for them well theyre just bananas!!! lol

It's funny about the darn chairs, we got season pass for the waterpark here in town and you have to get there before they open otherwise you must bring your own chair or seat on the grass, we always bring our folding chairs, but is nuts! People put their towels on 5 or 6 chairs, then they go and get a couple more to seat and read, and most of them don't use them.

We probably do hotel hopping but not for the pool,or mug, or breast LOL my kids are too old for that, and i don't want my Double D's out like that LOL .... just to take pics and gift shop shopping. That's OK RIGHT?? Or, do we have hotel shooping police too?

We are at the park at sun up and don't get back to the room until late. We figured it would take at least 3-4 hours to get back to the room, change and get to the pool, swim for a while, go back to the room, get cleaned up and changed again to hop a bus back to the park. How would you have time so see all you wanted to at the park if you take a swim break?
We are always rushed to see everything and I don't think we ever went to the pool for a swim out of all the times I have been. Maybe I am missing something and need to slow it down. This year we will have 1 whole day with nothing planned so maybe just maybe we can check out the pools.
Of couse we would use the one at our resort.
Wouldn't it be a big hasstle to try to get a bus to a park to hop a bus to another resort to swim and then get back on a bus (wet) to a park to find a bus to your resort to get cleaned up?

We always plan time to swim. I'm going down next month and I'm not sure if I'll even go to the parks...maybe one day. Just a nice relaxing vacation away from reality!

And yes it can take a while to take disney transportation but its very easy to drive to other resorts or leave a park and go to a different resort. Or if you're on the monorail take that to a different resort.

Well, pool hopping....no way.

But as far as swimming in general- lots of families get to the parks at opening and stay until early afternoon and then go back to the resort to swim, relax and rest. Many then go back to the parks in the evening when the brutal afternoon temperatures have improved. This is actually recommended in most of the guide books I have read. A good touring plan helps facilitate this process. On our last trip, we were at the parks 5 days and stayed 8 nights so we had days we could just hang out by the pool. It was great. Hope this helps answer your question. I wish I was leaving in 2 days. Have a great time.

We have never stayed at a place that has the monorail but I would love to. We will be using it to get to Chef Mickeys one morning. I always try to take as many forms of Disney transp. as I can. I just wish there was a faster way to DTD.

We also make time to go back.....we are there at opening....stay til at least 2 then head back and swim, rest and chill....they we head back around 5:30-6 and stay til closing....we normally stay 7 days and 6 nights...in 17 days (woo hoo) (can you tell I am counting) we are staying 9 days and 8 nights. Everyday will be the same with the occasion of throwing in the water parks in the morning until late afternoon and then heading back to one of the other parks around dinner time.....We eat, live and breathe Disney the entire time we are there...

You are what they call, COMMANDO STYLE tourists. It's OK. Some people can never get the commando out of them. On your upcoming trip, you must try to get back to the pool during the afternoon. Don't be afraid.
