I'm never buying another book again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

All you fast readers, enjoy while you can. As you get older you will find that you will only be able to read about 10 pages at a time before you fall asleep.

I read 3-6 books a week. I don't spend much money for clothes or jewelry, just books. And I can't bear to part with them. I have boxes and boxes of books packed away in the attic.

I've also read many books in just one day. That's why I go to many library book sales and I frequent yard sales for books. Most paperbacks are $.25 or $.50. I have such a stack of them now for summer reading! :) We also pass books around in our family so we get our money worth.

An addiction to slacking off & a few questionable hits to the head have kind of contributed to that inabilty. ;)

It's nice to know that I am not the only book lover out there. I have a real problem getting rid of books. I need to keep them so that I can reread them later.

Is there a 12 step program for me?

I spend almost all of my pocket money on books every week. I read 3-4 books a week on average. Fortunately for my budget, DH and I both love to re-read books.

Jules- you really need to read The Talisman before Black House or you'll get a bit confused in spots.

Books have always been a big part of my disposable income spending too.

If it's an author I love, I'm not even patient enough to wait for the paperback to come out.

Hey Jules. . if you haven't read them yet, find a used book store and by Stephen King's The Dark Tower series.

There are four books (so far) : The Gunslinger; The Drawing of the Three; The Waste Lands; iand Wizards and Glass. . . plus a fifth one coming out this November.

What's cool about the series is that not only does it stand on it's own (i.e. you don't have to be familiar with King's other books to enjoy it) but if you are a fan of King's work you'll pick up on references to the series in many of his other books- he started writing The Dark Tower series in college and it's his self-decribed master work that will ties everything he's written up (or will when he finishes it- there will supposedly be seven all together when he finishes it.)

The 1st book is a fairly quick read, and personally I didn't find it all that compelling. . but it set's up the other 3 and they are long and very facinating.

If you get all 4 at once that'll be a few thousand pages and should keep ya busy for awhile. . ;) :teeth:

I just finished Black House and I did not re-read The Talisman. It all made sense. It was really a great book. I was getting dirty looks from DH at 1am for still having the light on!!

WillyJ: GREAT news about the November release of the next in the Dark Towers series. Did you read Black House? Seems as if Jack will play a role in the Dark Tower Series.......

When Stephen King had that horrible accident one of my first (selfish!) thoughts was ...OMG...he can't leave Roland stranded!!

I ALWAYS buy used books! In fact, Black House is a library edition. I love those. Cost me $5.00 on Half.com.

wvjules: If you haven't read Stephen King's The Stand it's a FABULOUS read and REALLY long. My favorite book of all time.

Always nice to see another Roland fan Dorothy. . we are well met. . ;) :) :)

Eventually all the characters will be there, including Stephen himself. . . and according to what I've heard, he won't be the good guy. . .

Any-who. . here's a little something for ya. . . due out in November. . :)

" have "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" by Stephen King "

Saw Stephen King in the grocery store the other day. Heard some lady say to him, "Oh- I didn't realize who you were." and he looked down at her (he's quite tall) and said, "Yup, that's the point." and walked off.

WillyJ, I bet you are like me...the BIGGER the Stephen King book is the happier I am!!! And I just put the first thing on my Christmas list!!!!

I have read all of DeMilles stuff and Lions Game is great. Enjoy it you're in for a treat!

My reading came to a halt last week, so I'm still on "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon". I keep waiting and waiting for something scary to happen. Will it?

I wanna read a really scary book.
