I'm missing Disneyland!

It's been a whole year since our last amazing visit. I'm missing the warm Californian sun, the excitement of walking into the park, the music, the characters, and the pixie dust feeling you get just by being there! I long for a Maters Tulsa Tea! (Anyone have a recipe to share?) I want to lay down and have the light up headboard and music playing!

I'm blessed to be going on a cruise this summer, but it's not the same!

I've always wanted to see Disneyland decorated for Christmas, but it's not the best time to take my kids out of school. Would it be wrong to just go with my husband? Or leave the oldest at home because of university & take the younger two?

Because we've never gone at this time, (not saying we will even go) how are the crowds mid December?

Anyone else just need a Disney fix??

It's funny. When we were there in March, we went all out, with the mindset that this would be our last family Disney trip. We live in BC and the kids are now 12 and. 10.
We went once when they were younger and into Cars and the princesses, but not rides. This time was the opposite.
We even kept joking to dd that the next time she would be here would be with her kids!
Now that I'm home, I still read these boards regularly. I can't imagine that I won't be back again soon!
Who knows?! My ds and I loved it and dh and dd liked it, but not like us. I see a mother/son trip in our future! Lol

You know, I understand what you are going through. If you just go with your hubby, are you being a bad mommy? Will you be thinking of the kids every time you see Santa? On the other hand, why can't you enjoy a little adult time? Yes, it's a dilemma alright!

When will the oldest be on winter break? We are going from the 17 through the 23 of December. It is a bit more crowded than earlier, but if you stay on site and take advantage of EMH rope drop every morning, you will be able to enjoy the rides until eleven or noon. Then head back to the hotel for a rest or a movie. We like to play board games or cards in the lobby while the carolers sing. In the evenings go back to the parks for dinner and shows. Would that work?

I know that some day my DH and I will get a couple's trip, but until then, I enjoy those family holidays. However you get there, I hope the magic of a
Disney Christmas fills your soul!

She doesn't really get a break. She finishes exams, but is on a sports team that plays all through break.

I wish we lived closer than a four hour flight!

I don't think there's a way of getting a disney fix other than BEING THERE!!!

I feel ya. I try and soothe it with the DisBoards, youtube videos, and blogs, but it's not the same....just tides me over until the next time. :)

FWIW, I think it's totally okay to take a grown-ups only trip. My husband has already said he wants one as soon as our kid(s) can stay with Grandparents....

...We have a 1-year-old. Hahahaha.

An adults only trip is so amazing! My DH and I went in Feb. for my 30th birthday and left our kids 5 and 3 at home with grandma.
I had a smidge of guilt but the break from everyday life was fantastic, this was the first time we had been in 15 years.

We scoped out everything and made plans to take our kids for their first trip in November.

Go and enjoy!!!

I'm looking at my daughter's school calendar for the 2014-2015 school year. We're LAUSD. This year the Christmas break is fairly late, from 12/22 - 1/9. OC public schools I don't know about. In general, the December "teens" are a pretty nice time to come.

I just really want to see it decorated for Christmas! But I don't want the Christmas crowds.

I will get there someday......

Makes me smile thinking about it!!!:-)
