I currently have a Canon SD450 that I'm going to give to my daughter since she has it 95% of the time anyways. I was looking at the Canon SD850 because for the most part I really like my current Canon. The only thing I have problems with is red eye. I've read the reviews and they seem to like it. Anyone have a better choice for me. I really don't like to do manual settings, usually don't take any action shots and wanted to stay under $300.

Most very small cameras have problems with red eye. The closer the flash is to the lens, the more likely it is that you'll get red eye - and obviously, a small pocket camera has no option but to have the flash very close to the lens.

Red eye is usually pretty easy to fix after the fact, though.

I figured that. I miss my old Nikon film camera with the huge zoom lens. What about the full body cameras over a point and shoot, are they any better? I love the quality that the digital SLR type cameras have, but wow are they expensive. :thumbsup2

Well, a basic DSLR can be had for around ~$400 nowadays... some point-n-shoots cost that much.

In terms of red-eye, yes, the larger cameras do better - and if you use an external flash, you'll almost certainly not get red-eye.
