I'm just so sad....

Minnie I know how hard it is because I lost my own mother 5 years ago. I was 40 at the time and she was only 69. She died of lung cancer. I still miss her so much. We were scheduled to go to Disney and stay at the Poly the month she was diagnosed. Needless to say we had to cancel that trip and she never made it back to Disney, but some of my fondest memories are spending time there with her.

I still remember the first time we walked in to the Magic Kingdom back in 1976. She started crying. I asked her why and she said that since she and my dad split up when I was just a baby she never thought she'd be able to take me to Disneyland even though it was a dream of hers and here many years later with me as an adult we finally made it.

When she was diagnosed the first thing I did was to buy her a brick at WDW and it ended up being at the Poly which was her favorite resort.

Just last month DH and I were in Disney and went to visit her brick. It is nice to have a tribute to here there where she was so happy.

It is still too new for you, but I urge you to embrace the happy memories. Talk to her often. I have found a calming peace when I do.

Life does go on, but it isn't quite the same. No matter how old we are we still feel very lost when our Mother is gone.

I will keep you and your mother in my prayers.

My dad passed away in his sleep Dec. 2, 2001. I miss him every day. No matter what your age, it hurts. :( All I can offer is {{{HUGS}}} It does get easier to talk about it over time, but there is always a hole in your heart.

I don't have any words for you, I can not imagine what it is like to lose your mother at any age. I did want to tell you how very sorry I am that your mother passed. {{{HUGS}}}

{{{{HUGS}}}} Minnie. It's so hard loosing a parentm no matter what age. What's important, and it was said above is that your Mum's memories live with you. I lost bothe my parents before I was 30. It's tough, I still think of them every day. Saying a prayer for you and your familly.

I am so very touched by your words and compassion.

You have all in one way or another summed up how I feel. I do all of the things suggested...I talk to my Mum every day, often very many times....I did write her a letter pouring out my heart and soul. I just wish I had done more of that when she was still here..as mentioned here.... 46 years flew by....I never realized our time was coming to an end.

In recent years she was quite lonely and often we heard a 'cry for help' that we didn't really hear....Always that thought of maybe tomorrow there would be more time. I guess life got too busy to pay her the attention she derserved sometimes and now that is our cross to bear.

My daughters and I have such wonderful memories of time well spent with Mum...but our heart aches for all she will not share with us as we journey on. All the special moments mentioned here...such as Graduations and weddings and on and on. And it is so hard sometimes to realize that the whole world has indeed gone on and will continue to go on without her...it didn't miss a beat with her passing.

She was my very best friend...I miss her voice..her hugs that 'squeezed the life out of you' (and we used to tell her so!!) I miss how she used to look at my children with all the love and pride a heart could hold and forever I will miss the feel of her hand in mine.

I don't remember exactly how or when I came across these 'Disboards' but I really found some very kind hearts. You give me support and the promise of better days to come and I am so very grateful for you all having listened and taken the time to think of me for a moment.

God Bless all of you too.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom, minnie. I can't imagine your pain, and I will continue to pray for your peace and comfort. {{{HUGS}}} on the way.
