I'm itching to start packing!!!!

If you're looking to create a little extra sapce, I have to confess that those Space Bags (like you see on infomercials) are GREAT. My DH bought a pack at WalMart out of curiousity and then had me order more off the internet. I looked at him at first and said, "Why?" He said, "They looked cool..."

Could you post the link to these Space bags please?

I have all of our new things packed. I'm still waiting for some new PJs from the disney store, they should be here any day now. All toiletries are packed. Next week I will start packing some of our clothes. I just can't wait!!!! :)

Here's a link for those little "vaccuum-packers" I mentioned in a prior thread...

Personally for our use the biggest sizes are the best (that's large and X-large). We're using them at ends of season for blankets, beach towels, sweaters. HOWEVER -- we bought some of the med. sized ones for packing. Hoping it will reduce our volume somewhat! I was actually quite impresses by the ones you don't vaccuum-out (you roll them to squoosh the air out). We took a beach towel (Disney Ariel beach towel, in fact!) and shoved it in there and did the "roll job" on it just to see how long the "vaccuum" would last. After 5 days we had to let the poor mermaid out... my dd needed her towel for the pool!

If you have HOTWIRE -- just remember you can get these 15% off if you go through the Samsonite site. And as i said before -- if you want just a few to "try 'em" -- go to Walmart -- that's where DH got his.

As you can see by my countdown that I have alot of time to go and I've already started packing. I put layaways around town and I'm starting to get them out. All that new stuff is being packed. I bought toys for our 2 day travel (Driving from STL and staying overnight in ATL then going on the ORL). Several outfits have been packed. I bought new tennis for everyone and I actually had to "hide" them because I know they will wear them before we leave (I also bought insoles). Every time I go to the Disney Store they are having some kind of great sale on T Shirts and I've packed those. I got a family Tshirt made and I've packed that. I have a big layaway due out on July 15 at Walmart (all new underwear, t-shirts, STL cardinals hats, movies, games, and almost everything needed for my trip). I'll have everything packed after I get out that layaway. I don't want my family (especially my DD) playing or bothering all this stuff so packing it just seemed smart.

I have a big box that I throw all the Disney things that I have been collecting. I have pins, Disney Tees that we save for the parks, car games and books, stuff like that. I know that if I start packing now my husband will have a fit. We are 3 months out!

I will however go through the drawers and plan out what we will wear and if I still need to buy stuff. The packs of new socks and underwear I will keep hidden because we can just suffer with old underwear, but have nice ones for our trip.

I control (and make) all the money for our trip so I had better never hear the phrase "how much does this cost"

Hey, if we keep this thread going long enough, it will really be time for the OP to pack! ;)

It's getting closer and closer. We actually are leaving the night before our trip to stay at the hotel at the Philadelphia airport since we have a very early flight out, so I only have 19 days until we leave. YEAH. I figure I can start serious packing in 10 more days. Today I sorted all the hidden "tinkerbelle surprises" and put them in ziploc bags with each kids name and the day on them. That way at night I can just transfer them to their "magic" bag. The kids were at their grandparents since we had to take ds to college orientation so it was a good chance to lay everything out and sort it without any interruptions. It just made me more anxious to do my real packing. One of the funny things is I haven't let the kids wear most of their new summer clothes (except for special times) so they should be really easy to pack. Also kept all the new underwear and socks in the packages too.

Look at my clock.... and I haven't actually started packing yet. Can't actually since we'll need the clothes before we go, too. I would love to start, though. I have gone through everyone's clothes to see what's needed and what will go with us, and am shopping tomorrow for the last minute stuff. I'm going to check Wal Mart for those bags. But do they want to open them at the airport? I don't actually pack into the suitcase until the day before we go.... but I do make my lists and double check everything, make sure I know where it all is, etc. If I could pack this far ahead, I would. Heck, I'd go pack now if I could. Instead, I'll just get ds to bed and start on my lists.

I've been reading the lists of things to pack, and yesterday I hit the Dollar Store... now i'm wondering how to make it all fit. I'm also trying to figure out if I want to bring the cooler on the plane, and then if I want to use that space (I would love to bring *my* feather pillow...)

I seriously can not imagine only having carryon luggage!! But then maybe I should...

I just deleted a paragraph... edited to add - - oh yeah, have any of you brought a cooler as a carry on? I'm thinking of all that space I can use, even if I just pack cereals, pretzels, my pillow... and lightly duct tape it so it can be opened to be viewed...

my last thoughts were on raingear. I bought a 69 cent thin rain pancho in a ziplock that is mentioned often on the boards. dh and I have substantial raingear (breathable) but that takes up a lot of room... and then maybe we should bring an umbrella to use as a parasol...

Really I'm not obsessed........

ok i'll admit i'm the crazy one. I have started packing already. I buy all new for when we go i pick up stuff here and there whenever i see something cute (you know it will be gone if i leave it till i need it) and it goes straight into the suitcase. i also am driving down so i have picked up some travel games and stuff for the kids and they are in a big tupperware container

I've started packing! Shampoo and conditioner, contact solution and toothpaste all in the new case I bought for it. :hyper:

I'd love to start packing - I'm a major type-A travel plannin' gal. However, the trip to the World isn't until mid-September and I've got three other major trips to deal with between now and then, all requiring different clothes and gear.

So I'm satisfying my organizational urge by making maniacal lists posted to the fridge. There's a page for each trip and each list is divided into six sections - there's one for each person going on the trip and then one for gear, one for special toiletries and one for stuff needed to buy before we go.

I have 18 days to go and am trying to make sure that I have bought everything that we will need. We are driving down with our travel trailer so I really am not limited on what we can bring. We are camping around here for the 4th so as soon as we get back I will start putting the Disney supplies in the camper. I will only have a week and a half to finish packing once we are back. You know? I really should be worried about what I need to pack for this long weekend, but who cares, I'm a Disneyholic. lol.

I've been tripping over our largest suitcase now for a whole week and we have 19 more days to go. I have already made 1 trip to Wal mart and Dollar Tree to start getting the essentials and throwing them in that bag. I'm so excited I can't think of anything else!

16 days until I need to be completely packed. We fly out in 17 days but are staying at the airport hotel the night before. I'm going to have DH bring out the big suitcases this weekend so I can seen how much I can pack and if anything needs to be shipped. Once I start packing I can really feel the excitement. Since my ps's are all made, and the trip is paid for it's the only thing left that makes me feel like I'm getting closer and closer!

I'm still packing the smaller things, but I can't wait to start packing clothes! Just 8 more days. :) I think I'll start packing the clothes on Monday, I am just soooo excited! :)

I'm almost done shopping for the trip and packing. Of course, I have bought mostly new stuff for my DDs, so that can all be packed. I have more stuff to organize & buy, including snacks and odds & ends (like the stroller rain cover, snacks, meal vouchers, etc). I would love to go over my PS arrangements and fianlize buuuuttttt the hours are not posted yet on the official web site. I am trying to have the kids wear matching clothes for a bunch of the days of the trip, so I really am packing two of everything. Its great to buy all the extra stuff, so you don't have to purchase it there for more $, but who do you think is going to have to carry it all? I am also waiting on AP rates for Sept. So, since I'm stuck waiting on hours and rates, I guess the only thing I can do now is pack!

We leave in 18 days and I have had many items packed for about a month now. I need to unpack it to see what I packed and what I haven't....should have written it down on a list!

I like the idea about the bags but always thought you had to vaccumn the air out and wondered how would you return with all the stuff. But then read that you can roll the air out. I think I have some of those bags...will try it!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy trip!:sunny:
