Just checking in here while in the world. Staying in the room tonight with a little rumbly tummy.

So, a few notes about the trip so far:

-yes, the parks are crowded, but we've been able to enjoy ourselves using fast passes and doing the quick-loading or less busy attractions.

-EMH is still worth it. Did our first one today at MK and got a LOT done before Chef Mickey's at 10:30.

-Did both BB and TL and I agree--go first thing in the morning and leave by noon. We got lots done before then.

-Did M:S twice--the first time, had no ill effects WHATSOEVER, loved it, it was a blast. Second time--slight headache and tummy ache the rest of the day for me, nothing for DH, DS & DD. Go figure. I still think it's a heck of a ride.

Highlight of the trip: making up names for our bus rides. (just for fun, not indicative of the service): Bus of Terror, Mission:Bus and my favorite, It's a Small Bus After All.

Any questions? I might be here for a little bit.

Sorry to hear that your not feeling well. Hopefully you'll be better soon. Sometimes a little rest is just what you need!

How is the weather?

Weather---Thursday was Tropical Storm Erika, before she quite worked herself up to a tropical storm, so it was windy and raining. We did BB in the rain for a while and it was fun (you're gonna get wet anyway, right?). That actually helped with the heat, too.

Since then, it's been hot with a daily thunderstorm for a couple of hours. Today was the first day (since Wed) that it didn't rain.

How crowded is 'crowded'?

What are some of the standby wait times like for the big Fastpass attractions? What about attractions without Fastpass?

We leave Tuesday and were hoping for small crowds, but now I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for seas of people.

How crowded is crowded?

I wouldn't do any major attractions without fastpass, or early in the morn. At EMH, DD&DH today did all the mountains without FP. Test Track I've seen at 90 min waits within an hour of entry, with FP return at 2:00.

As for moving through the crowds, I don't feel it's wall to wall. Except for a few bottlenecks (like Main Street in the morning), I've felt completely comfortable walking around--not running into people, etc.

We've really not missed anything that we wanted to see at all. Jungle Cruise was miles long five minutes after it opened this morning, with FP for a return at noon, but that's the only thing we missed that we wanted to get on.

Also--people had me scared about leaving after fireworks, but we've been to all three night time events, and while there are tons of people, everyone is very orderly leaving and it was quite pleasent each time.

I have to agree with you on this one. We just got home yesterday, and I cannot stress enough how important it is to get to the parks EARLY! I just posted a tip about it on this board, too. I know that day to day crowds differ, but getting there ahead of everyone can make all the difference. Have a great time! I'm jealous you are still there!

Hey michygoomy, hope you feel better!

I'll be joining you in the park tomorrow! I'm so exicted, I hope that I can get some sleep :-)

How neat that you are checking in with the DIS. Sorry to hear you are not feeling well, are you feeling better today?

UPDATE

Thanks for the well wishes--today I am feeling much better. Did EE at AK and managed to get done most of what we wanted. Headed straight back to the Safari and got on right away (even though that was what everyone else was doing). Got a FP for Kali--I can't imagine waiting an hour for that ride, it's just not that exciting. Had an early lunch at Rainforest and only had a 5 min wait (no PS) and that was fun, fun, fun.

Severe thunderstorms cleared us out of AK just at closing time. We were on the Majarajah (sp?) trail and I saw a BIG bolt of lightening, so we started heading out. A CM pointed us to a stone building and told us to get out of the storm. We didn't, but I was suprised he told us to. It did get pretty nasty, lots of close lightening bolts and it's still stormin' like a muther here. Don't know if this will pass in time for us to get to something else tonight. Were hoping for a quick trip to PI.

Oh, I meant to mention what a blast we had at the Beirgarten (sp?) the other night too. The entertainment was quite fun. Don't know if that's what gave me the tummy ache, though. We also did DQ in the afternoon yesterday and it wasn't too crowded and it was great to get out of the sun for a few hours. They had the "oldies" games--Pac Man, Tempest, Dig Dug!

PS--nativetxn--congrats on your weight loss! I'm a WWer myself--51 #s down--and I know how hard it is!!

Wow - that is scary about those storms. A bus driver told us last week that Florida is the "lightening capital of the world". I have been hearing about tornado warnings in your area this afternoon...any word on that??

I wanted to know if you could do me a favor...??? If you think of it, could you ask someone in the parks or your hotel how I can buy the Walt Disney World merchandise they sell in the parks at home?? Particularly the cute little Mickey jewelry. I wanted to pick up some things for my daughter for her birthday that I didn't, but should have, bought when I was there last week. I have asked about this on other boards, but haven't found a good answer.

Thanks a bunch, and stay dry!
