I'm in tears!!

My3kids, is it something you can just ask the doc to prescribe. I know I still have plenty of time before our trip, but just in case we don't get this flu. I wouldn't want to be sick in WDW. I'm always stuffing echinacea and vitamin c into us about a month or so before we go away. I drive my family nuts.

Hope you're feeling better today!
I like the idea of having the grocery store do all the work. Also, sometimes if you have people staying at a motel you can get the "hospitality room" which usually is a large room with a bathroom, tables and chairs, sometimes a kitchenette... Sometimes they're even right next to the pool which the kids love!!:D
If I was your company I would certainly understand moving it to a restaurant or hotel.

Tressa, I hope you're feeling better today. I also hope you've made some alternative arrangements for either a restaurant or someone else's house. Please take good care of yourself and your family - that's what is most important. Your out-of-town guests will certainly understand.

(((((((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))))), Tressa! I hope you're feeling better soon. Go ahead and have that cry...it will do you good. Last week I was the the doc's for a regular check up and told them TWICE I wanted a flu shot. I was driving home when I realized they never did give it to me. Now I have to see him on 12/2 to get it. I just want to be sure I have it before my trip to VA.

I think I would just lay down and cry too, what the heck. You deserve a good cry.

I would also opt to have a dinner prepared for you. I really don't think I'd go out to a buffet at a restaurant, please don't be offended, but you can all spread more of the virus to others if you're not all feeling 100%. This is how we all get sick.

Take care and Happy Thanksgiving :D

The flu always comes at the worst possible time, doesn't it? :( I get the flu every 2 or 3 years and to my luck, last year I got it...just hours before all my mom's family came over for a huge annual Christmas party, which we were hosting that year. I missed out on the first hour or two, but did everything I could to feel well enough to join in on the fun...I wasn't going to let the flu ruin my holidays!

I certainly hope you are feeling better...the flu is no fun. :( Try to have a Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the company; I'm sure they'd understand.

The flu always seems to hit at the worst times, in April 2001 I got it while at WDW! That sucked big time!

I might be afraid that if I had company come to my home that I would send all of my family and friends home with the flu.

If you do host a homemade meal, the chances of that happening are very, very high.

I can only echo everyone else's comments on contacting all the grocery stores in your area to see who is offering a Thanksgiving dinner made to order. Then all you have to do is go and pick it up! You might want to give the guests you're hosting a heads up as to how sick you all have been too. I know I'd want to be given the chance to make other plans.

Hope you're all feeling better soon! :sunny:

Oh...and for those interested in tracking the flu, or to see if you even have the flu vs. a cold, check here!

Gosh, I hope you're all feeling better soon, too. It's terrible when everyone is so, so sick - especially around the holidays.

I'm with the others who have advised you to tell your guests about the illness before they arrive. I know I wouldn't want to be anywhere around someone who's recently been so sick - I'd definitely get it. I'd really appreciate the option of backing out gracefully. Then, you'd be off the hook for dinner, too. But if your guest still want to come, I'd put them to work, go out, or order out.

I hope you can all enjoy your holiday at least a little bit. :worried:

DawnF: I don't think they would prescribe it unless there was a documented case of the flu in the household.

Oh my goodness, you poor thing. :(

As you are feeling so ill, why not buy food that is already prepared and just needs putting in the oven to cook?

I do hope you feel better soon.

I told them all so they would be prepared. I thought we would be at the end of it by Thursday and no longer be contagious, but I guess not! Wishful thinking. It is Wednesday and the flu is still going strong. I am pretty sure we have the official flu. The pediatrician said that we had classic symptoms.

So, I guess thanksgiving is off this year :(

Thanks everyone for your good wishes!

Tressa, I check the site I posted the URL to, and the Flu is hitting your town very hard. I'd be surprised if you all didn't have the flu!
