I'm Hungry...

I have been dieting for what seems like forever. I had my sensible supper, even though I really wanted to cave and order a pizza. I guess I can always have some more salad...

Healthy snacks? I can't live without snacks! Air-popped popcorn, yogurt and fruit, handful of nuts, etc. I'd starve without a snack between meals.

You just seem unsatisfied. Drink a huge glass of water, have more salad or other healthy snack and remember...Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

Go take a nice long walk too! :rotfl:

Two words: Air. Popper. I couldn't live without mine. Well, I probably could live but my love of salty snacks would certainly have gotten in the way of the 19 lbs I've lost since May 1. :cool2: In fact, I have a little Mickey bowl of popcorn on my desk right now; a spritz or two of popcorn butter and a sprinkle of whatever seasoning I'm in the mood for and it makes a great alternative to chips.

What was your sensible meal? If I don't get enough healthy fats then I won't be satiated. Maybe decrease the carbs in relation to your protein/fat calories?

ETA - A small piece of quality dark chocolate goes along way to making me feel satisfied!

You should really try the Abs Diet Plan. It is more than a diet and you will definitely be satisfied. There are so many thing that you can snack on. Plus it recommends that you pick one meal a week to eat whatever it is your craving. Everyone I have known to do it has been successful and it really changes your eating habits.

Also you should check out Busy Mom Gets Fit on FB she has some great advice.

Another suggestion -- and it works on the air-popped popcorn wonderfully! -- is to remember that spices have zero calories. It may not work for you, but I've always found that food that wakes up your mouth is more satisfying than "subtle flavors". Plain grilled chicken, for example, has about as much flavor as wet styrofoam, and you can eat quite a bit without realizing it. Hit your grilled chicken with some curry powder, or lemon pepper, or ground chipotle peppers, and it's more filling.

Good luck!

I hear you!!! My DS and I started Weight Watchers -- last week was our first week on the plan, and I was just hungry all week long, even though I ate all my points and had several extra fruits and veggies.

Mentioned it to my leader, who recommended combining types -- for example, instead of just peanut butter or an apply, have a tsp with an apple. It seems to be somewhat helpful.

I eat mostly protein and vegetables. I make a big pot of what I will call Chili for lack of a better word and eat about 1-1.5 cups of that with a salad for my supper. Sometimes I'll have 4-5 saltines or whole grain melba rounds with it.

My "concoction" consists of 3 lbs of extra lean ground beef, browned with onions, mushrooms, and several varieties of peppers. Then I add 2 jars of Ragu low sodium Tomato and Basil pasta sauce, and one jar of salsa and simmer it for awhile. It makes about 11 cups that I portion out into individual containers and freeze. I think I worked it out to about 270 calories per cup.

I find that I have the most success on the weeks that I have that for my supper with a salad. I've lost 42 lbs since mid-Nov, and that includes a week long trip to an all inclusive resort in Cuba in April. Some days/weeks are better than others and since I have lost so much already it is definitely a lot slower coming off. That makes it hard to stay focused. Some days I just want pizza. Last week I went to 5 Guys for the first time since they opened here, but we'd been driving past for months before I finally said "today is the day". I was up a little last week because of it but it's all off again now. Sometimes you just have to splurge a little.

and remember...Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

I like to snack on carrots and pretend they are cupcakes:rotfl:

Diets do not work. Deprivation does not work.

And I HATE the saying about "Nothing Tastes as Good as Skinny Feels"! This is a lifestyle, NOT a diet! I still have pizza, burgers, fries, and cupcakes in moderation and in correct portions and I still lose plenty of weight and inches. I am not going to live the rest of my life without those foods, so why should I do it while I lose weight?

Wait wait wait...The saying says not a thing about a diet. EVERYTHING in moderation.

I've been on a juice fast for 38 days. You don't know hungry. I passed hungry a month ago.

:lmao:
