I'm hopeless

We leave in 13 days for our first trip to the World since Epcot was new. I've already started packing.... ME luggage tags are on the bags, the AAA tags are on the bags, the carryon has some things in it already. Granted I'm only packing things I know we won't wear/use/need until we go, but still....geez I'm hopeless! The time can't go by fast enough!

Animal Kingdom?

The Water Parks?

Downtown Disney?

Geesh, I hope you've done your homework, so much new to see!

npmommie: we are staying at POP for one night then transferring to POR for the rest of our trip. We originally were going to stay at POR but decided to add a day on before hand and fly down instead of drive, hence the POP stay.

and mike: we've been doing our homework since this whole idea hatched back in July! Nope, never been to AK, MGM or DTD...heck, half of World Showcase wasn't even open when I was there last, and DP has never been to Epcot! I'm sure there's plenty we don't know about, but hey...if we don't get to it this time there's always next time! Okay dad, I guess I'll get back to quadruple checking the list and packing some more!

P.S. as far as water parks go, I went to River Country once back in the day, but not the others; besides, it'll prolly be too chilly in Jan for us to go this time!

We'll be at Riverside....it was the Moderate that was most appealing to us. Ever been? I've read mixed reviews about it but overall they have primarily positive.

We did Riverside once about 8 years ago. It was nice, but we prefer French Quarter (just a taste thing though--no actual pros or cons to one over the other).

1st - you're not hopeless - you're excited...nothing wrong with that. We've done Riverside and FQ also - like Hadley said, it's really a taste thing...we didn't really like one more than the other. It was nicer staying at a moderate rather than the value - they feel less crowded and a bit more quiet. So you can escape a bit when you're not in the parks. POP is our favorite value - the theming is so cool and fun.

PS - Hi Hadley...saw your note in the other post. We've been busy since the transatlantic. Mike and I both have had to travel again for our jobs. Mike got to go to Guadalajara and Bogota. I got sent around the world again - got to see the Great Wall - which was awesome! We also got to go back to WDW in November for my Birthday - which was great with all the decorations. '07 was a great year for traveling the world. We're holding out hope that we can get cabins on the WB PC in May - we're waiting to make sure we can get the time off...Mike's parents want to go with us and it will be their first Disney Cruise. If not, we may do a Mexican Riveria and DL instead.

Hopeless is when you get your suitcase out to pack and it still holds your moleskin, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, ponytail holders, and other miscellaneous things from the last trip!

I start packing things months before we leave!! New clothes, bath stuff, fans and lots of things!

Nah. You aren't hopeless. I usually pack weeks in advance, in fact I leave in 4.5 weeks and I haven't started yet... I am behind..

We have to move the things into a box because we use the suitcases for other trips (DH travels a lot for work and we like to tag along)--otherwise that is where it would be And as to doing the same thing (prefering POFQ)--I gues great minds think allike, right

Me too! My trip isn't until October and I've already started my collection: ponchos, hand sanitizer, lime green Mickey Heads...I should at least pretend to be abashed by my obsession....but, no, I'm weird and I'm proud!!!!

You'll like Riverside. It was the first Disney hotel I ever stayed at so it will always be special for me. For Riverside I prefer the mansion area - it's so spread out that it never seems crowded. Port Orleans is nice too and they're so close together you can easily walk between them ... you get the best of both worlds! Make sure you take a boat ride to DTD at night.
