We love the F&WF, they have had more and more booths each and every year. We arrived Saturday and the lines for the booths were horrible. Each and every booth had ten to thirty people on line. It was really horrible. We hoped it was just for the weekend and all the locals would be gone by Monday. We were right.
We went to MGM on Sunday, hoping that Epcot would be better Monday. My 200 year old, three foot tall mother in law really had a blast. A set of street performers, three yentas on the back of a car saw her from a distance and started calling out to her, "Its Lucille Ball!!"(maybe her bright red har had something to do with that). Never realized just how accessable WDW actually is. There was nothing that you couldn't do with a wheelchair. She didn't make it too long into the days, but she had a great time.
She loved the Hoop Dee Doo!!!
The GV was great, we gave her the master, we stayed in the queen bedroom and my daughter and a friend stayed in the third. My father, stepmother, two sisters, their husbands and four kids had another GV and a two bedroom(my sister, her husband and their two kids stayed in the two bedroom).
I used my DVC discount to play my first ever round of golf on the LBV course that wraps around OKW. I had to rent clubs, they were all out of the 'Delux' clubs and the gave me a free upgrade to these "Titlest" clubs, I tell you, they were the worst clubs I have ever used, they just wouldn't hit the ball, they kept hitting the top of the ball, missng and often they even sent the ball into the water!!! I can't believe they rent such terrible golf clubs.
We had a truly fantastic dinner in the castle on Monday night. That really was some good chow. We did breakfast there once several years ago and while the castle itself was breathtaking and the princess was hot, the food was pretty lousy. Cold, pre-plated character meal breakfast, I think they plate them all in one central location and then send them to the various character breakfasts around property. This dinner was great and the service was beyond superb. The waitress said "If you see a side on a dinner other than the one are ordering, just ask!"..I had the king cut and the potatoes were absolutely fantastic, my wife had the pork chop and it was really, really perfect, almost made me regret my king cut....and then just as desert arrived, the fireworks started going off right in front of our eyes. We had fifteen people eating in what was the perfect table for viewing fireworks.
Monday and today we spent some time at Epcot, it was back to the usual low crowds and no lines. While there were certainly many people about, there were no lines to speak of anywhere. Had about five or six thimbles of cheese soup, some beef strogonoff, ziti carbonara, couple of beef kabobs and a few sweets. I really, really love the Food and Wine Festival, we went to the first one accidently and have only missed two years since.
