I am exhausted. I am broke. My shoulder is sore from carrying heavy pins around. My feet ache from standing in long lines. I think I might have gained 10 pounds. But I gotta tell ya....
I HAD THE BEST TIME!!!!
PEOPLE: It was so great being able to spend time with everyone instead of just typing on the computer. I finally got the chance to meet a few people( Jack and Deb) whom I consider to be friends but whom I had never met in person. It was also fun to have a little "cruise reunion" (Dana, I will send those teabags by the end of the week).
PLACES: The breakfast at World Showplace was very well organized, as was the registration tent out in the parking lot of Epcot. I would have preferred that the entire event be held at World Showplace, but that was not to be (which rumor do you think is true?). And I was glad that we didn't have to go back to World Showcase to get our maps stamped, they handed out the maps and stamps and completer pins by the logo store in Inoventions. The logo store itself was no great shakes in my opinion...way too small to accomodate the number of people in attendance, therefore ...another long line.
THINGS: For the most part, I thought the pins were quite "beauty"ful, and there was certainly quite a variety to choose from. I can't wait to organize and frame my maps and pins together...it's going to be fun! The logo merchandise was weak in my opinion...LE logo bag(will they ever make us a large pinbag with the event logo on it?), hat, t shirt...no big deal to me. Lanyard also no big deal. The lines the first day were AWFUL (only 11 cash registers), but they did make an attempt to rectify that (added 15 more), and by Sunday, it did seem better. GPAII was tons of fun!
My only disappointment was that the Boa Brigade did not perform our ritual dance...it was way too crowded at AS
, but the evening was a blast, and I know that eveyone had fun trying to trade 80 times! Thanks Lauri and Jeff for all your hard work organizing that meet!
So, yes there were some glitches (although you would think by now after 10 or 12 pin events that they could get it right), but like I have said before, it's about the people, the pins are what bring us all together! I had a great time!!!
