I'm Here at CBR. My Thoughts. Any Questions?

As far as road construction they are working on the bridge right before you get to CBR. Some truck had hit the bridge damaging the support beam.

How visible is Pop Century from CBR? Is it really an eyesore?

I remember that toliet situation when we were there last summer. It does have lots of power. I'm glad that you like the CBR, but I hate the problems you are having at the food court. Enjoy the rest of your stay!

If you go back by Trinidad South you can seem them. I don't stay back there so it doesn't bother me. When Pop Century opens I would love to stay there.

We are staying at CBR in May and I HAVE to know (this is critical) - are there coffee makers in the rooms??????

Food court. 12:30 this afternoon. Went up to the Deli to get a grilled cheese sandwich for my 4 year old.

Was told "we close the Deli at 11 for lunch."

I replied "doesn't that sound ridiculous to you?"

Was told "yes, but they've cut back stuff."

My son cried, but said he'd take a jelly sandwich instead. Had to ask the Pasta counter (bizzarre that people would want Pasta for lunch but not a Deli sandwich) for two slices of bread. Took ten minutes.

They close the deli at 11 for lunch? At 11 in which country? What would it have taken to make a little one a grilled cheese sandwich. Are the crowds really that small now? The newspaper had a big story about how the attendance was way down but I find it hard to believe that they'd be closing delis at 11 a.m. Do you know what time the food service closes at night? I'll stop asking so many questions so you can get on with your vacation. Thanks again for all the great info. If it makes you feel better we now have about 15 inches of snow on the ground with another foot or more coming. Stay warm.

Limited food service stays open till about 10pm as far as I can tell, and the doors close at 11pm most nights.

Don't know about the parks themselves, but CBR is packed and there's little excuse for the cutbacks I've seen.

The thing that's the most distressing is that there is nothing to do except Epcot after 7pm most nights. Magic Kingdom and other fun stuff are shut down early.

Still having fun though! 80 and sunny again tomato :)

When I heard about the changes to the food court and found out that you get your food and wait to pay it seemed to me that your food would get cold if the line was long. Do you think it's possible?

If you have hot food it is usually covered. The line was never that long that my food got cold. We were there when the cheerleaders were there in Feb and even though we waited in line the food was still hot.

Biggest CBR disappointment to date:

No more soft-serve ice cream at OPR. Gone for the sake of some stale bagels and $5.00 pineapple slices.

The 4 year old and I used to take ice cream walks across the bridge every night and now that's gone. The Good Humor bars in the freezer don't cut it, but there are pictures of them on safetymom's website.

The lack of soft serve ice cream offsets the gains made by the industrial strength toilets.

Current score with three days left:

New Stuff Added: 2

Old Stuff Removed: 2

They don't even have Mickey bars! Leave it to a guy to take a great toilet over a good ice cream anyday. Enjoy your last gasps of Disney. By the way, it finally stopped snowing in Denver. We have four feet of the good stuff here and thousands of Disneyworlders are sitting at DIA - sad and mad - for three days now. Who says timing isn't everything.

Tonight we did the Hoop De Doo....

Major thumbs-up for the Sing-a-Long and the outdoor movie at Fort Wilderness; one of the trips' highlights.

Two minor annoyances today:

1. Big cockroach on the Fort Wilderness bus. Ugh.

2. No milk for coffee at CBR. You have to ask for it. Ugh.

Tomorrow it's off to MK one last time as it's open till 9pm for hotel guests willing to spend even more money for the privalege of something that used to be free of charge.

I love Disney, but the bloom is off the rose now. The cutbacks are very, very evident everywhere. Can't be ignored. From limited service at OPR, to short park hours, to badly needed paint jobs at MK and Epcot, to only one person at CBR Guest Services at 6pm......it's clear that finances are impacting Disney. This is *not* specific to CBR, but it's clearly visible now.

Lastly before signing off and retuning to the snow at home......

The CBR birds are vicious. They've always been aggressive, but Eisner's cutbacks are making them downright evil. Less tourists, less service. Less service, less guests. Less guests, less food for the birds. Less food for the birds, the more nosedives they take at your trays at OPR and enroute to the island pools. Be warned.

Ta ta.....

Really enjoy your live threads from CBR boltjames. Fun to read your take on the world.

NO - do not go this route...do NOT go down that cheerleading slanging match which we all know is about to ensue. If you folks want to go into the whole "Is cheerleading a sport, are they atheletes" you take it right on over to the Debate Board where it belongs, but you ain't doing it here.

Keep this thread on topic and stick to talking about the CBR.

Edited to add - all references to Cheerleading on this thread will now be deleted without notice - now enough already!

Disneymad,

Thanks for deleting my post...I understand that this is not the debate board, but I am trying to defend people who were insulted by a nasty comment that is STILL at the top of this thread. Why wasn't that deleted????

My post was deleted too, probably for name calling LOL I agree, his comment should be removed too....totally rude
