It just hit me like a ton of bricks. I want to go back soooooo bad. But this year I don't think it is in the cards for us. We just moved from NC to TX, hubby started a new job and it starts off slow. So not making any extra money to afford and awesome trip to Disney.

On top of that our oldest is now 10 so he will be charged adult admission and our youngest will be 3 this August so he will be charged admission too  So planning a trip the next time around is gonna be more expensive. But still so much fun.

I went on the Disney site yesterday to price out a trip if we were to go right now, it's about $4-5,000 and that's at a value resort! After we had the deluxe dining plan last year we vow to never go without it again so that makes the price jump up and that's fine with us. That plan works so well with our family.

*sigh*

So who else wants to go so bad this year but just can't afford it. Let's all hold hands and pout ;) LOL

I'm having the withdrawals too. I will still go this year though! I go every May, and spend the rest of the year planning. I'm a little obsessed. This year I'm having a baby in March so May is out. I was going to just skip this year but I just can't do it, so it looks like we'll go in October instead just for a fix to get us through till next year. But...my whole family ie.parents, brother his girlfriend and her family decided to take their first trip in years there in 2 weeks. I'm stuck here during the longest coldest winter ever (it seems) with snow that just won't melt, 8 months pregnant and they're all at my favorite place in the world!! So I share your pain! Boo hoo!

:wave2: You're not alone! We were just at the World for Christmas/NY and I want to go back NOW! Yes, I was even crying at the airport beggin DH to not make me go back home (ok other issues there too).:lmao: Don't know when we'll get back.
We are in the same situation as you...we are soon moving, I will go back to teaching (so bye-bye any chance of off season), and I dont know what DH will end up doing ($$, vacation???). DD is 3 and DS is 5 so I wan to go back at least 2 more times before DS is 10 (and thinks he's too grown up to be with mom and dad). Our other problem is that DH is Bahamian, so his family will want us to come "home" to visit...one country (that I now hate) when we can visit how many in the WS. :confused3
What I can't figure out is...are the Disboards helping to meet my Disney cravings (if at least a little) OR are they making the cravings worse!!!

This is how I know I am jonesing for Disney...

My vacation is 7 months away and I am already having strange dreams about it. Usually the dreams don't hit me until a week or two before we leave! This one was really strange. We were on day 3 of our trip and we at AK. Only you walk through this strange archway and there are (no joking) four cages of animals, one of which had a dog in it! Then a monkey attached itself to my leg and wouldn't get off! So I decided that I would go on Expedition Everest to get it off(no clue how that would help). Anyway, before I got on the ride, the stupid monkey vanished! I get on the ride and its set up just like Goofy's Barnstormer. Then I woke up. :rotfl2:

Always! We were gonna have to wait until 2010 but with the 40% coupon, we're going back in September!:cheer2:

Me too I would love to go back this year but we're not. Hoping to go Oct 2010 but it will mean hard saving. DH lost his job in November but has just got a new one:thumbsup2 but its not as well paid so our trips won't be as frequent:sad2: :sad2:

I hear you especially with all the crazy deals they have been running lately. If I had an extra $2500 I would totally book with the kids stay/eat free pin code I got. But we just went in August, so it's not smart to spend that money again already. It doesn't help that my son will turn 10 in September so he will be an adult then.

the best thing to do is join the Disney Vacation Club. We travel almost every year to Disney World and usually bring another family with us...all with our vacation club. Works great especially if you travel off season.

We have gone a few times in August. Stay at a value resort use ME have garden grocer deliver water/pb & j/bread and a trip is not that much.

I wish we could join the Disney Vacation Club. Before we moved hubby had a really good job and on our last trip we were going to defintely look into joining because at that time, we could afford the extra.

That's ok though, in a few years time we will be able to afford going to Disney whenever we want. Ok ok ok whenever I want ;) LOL

The Dis Board helps a little with my craving.

What's so funny is that after I priced out a trip to Disney using the buy 4 get 3 free deal it had us in Animal Kingdom Lodge, with deluxe dining for $4200. Not bad AT ALL. There is still no way we can afford it right now though. So I tell hubby about it and he tells me to stop it. I then sit on the couch and flip through channels only to run into the Travel Channel and Samanthas Favorite Disney things was on. Not even 5 minutes into the show and she as talking about Animal Kingdom Lodge. Hubby came in right on cue and told me that I was banned from watching anything Disney LOL :happytv:

Later on that day I reached into my pocket and there was a pressed quarter from the Magic Kingdom.

crazyness

Maybe, just maybe we will magically find ourselves at Disney sometime this year. I doubt it, but a girl can dream princess:

I wish I wish I was going back this year. Unfortunately it won't be in the cards for at least 2/3 years. Unfortunately I am getting divorced this year so financially, blah...

Now, if I had just had a DVC to try and win in the settlement:rolleyes:

I'm in withdrawls too, me, my DH, and 2 DD went last June, and I was missing it before we ever left Orlando.
We are planning on going again in 2010, but the wait is killing me. I just get through it by planning the next trip. (I've been reading Disney guide books, and watching every Disney oriented show they have aired on the Travel Channel). My husband thinks I've lost my mind  , but we "Disneyholics", do what we must to get our Mickey fix. Hang in there. :thumbsup2

Well just wait till March/April when the free dining comes out and try a less expensive hotel. You can upgrade your meal plan even with the free dining. Maybe try staying at the pop century and see how much you will spend. Oh by the way to upgrade costs the same about 38 dollars a day for adults and 12 a day for kids. I know that Animal Kingdom Lodge is great, but if you really want to go you make sacrafices where you have to. Just remember you only need a place to sleep.

EVERYDAY!!!!!We went in October and I want to go back bad. Now, here's the best part. We're DVC members and still get the Disney blues when I'm away from my second home. I drive my family nuts when the Disney blues set in I watch all the park DVDs and listen to live 365 on the computor. So I'm with you when it comes to missing Disney World.

This winter has been too long already.I can not wait for may and the cure to my Disney withdrawl

We went in December and going back again in May and staying at AK! I just wanted to say that I would give the 4/3 a try through Dreams Unlimited! We were so happy that our agent was able to not only get us in the resort we wanted but for the PRICE we wanted as well. This is the first time we booked through them and we will be repeat customers! Have your dates ready and let them give you a quote...you might be very shocked to find out that you can afford it this year. That deal is a great one and there probably will be others to come.

I want to go back too. i fell like a big baby because I want to go!(insert foot stomp here!) DH is staring to crack at first it was no way we cant do it in this economy. Now he sounds more optimistic when I talk to him about it! So all I can do is hope!

I have withdrawal every day! My whole family misses it, but we just can't afford to go. Not sure when we can return.
