Im having a hard time trying to get a ressie for the day we go to Animal Kingdom. Can someone please tell me how the Yak N Yeti is? Currently we have ressies for Tusker House. But when I looked at the menu I was like "Yikes, I have to change this!!!" :rotfl2: We are staying at POR and I tried to get us into Planet Hollywood and to my surprise, it was all booked up. I guess if I have to, we could travel to another resort to eat, I just didn't want to waste half of the day traveling for eating :sad2:

Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated :thumbsup2

We will be trying Yak & Yeti for the first time this trip and am very excited. I have read great reviews lately and their is such a variety. I hear the BBQ ribs are awesome also the shrimp tempura w/steak. The best thing to do is to check the menu to see if it appeals to all in your party. :) Hopefully you will not have a problem getting a ressie.

we just returned from a trip (July 15-23) and I have to say that Tusker House was really awesome! We had never eaten there before, but found that the buffet had many great choices! (However I did see many people with just bread, lunch meat and fruit on thier plates...please have a little adventure!!)
We ate at Yak and Yeti over spring break and then again on our summer trip. The second experience was not as great as the first. (food was cold and my husband was still hungry after his lunch)
So we will be booking Tusker House for our next trip and probably skip yak and Yeti!

On our last two visits to Disney we have dined at Yak and Yeti and have loved it. The food is really good and the fried wontons for dessert are awesome! I'm going again in a month and have once again made reservations for Yak and Yeti...I'm hooked. I'd go for Yak & Yeti over Planet Hollywood any day...to me that's just boring old food I can get anywhere.

I'm not a fan of chain restaurants like PH but if your party is, maybe you want to try the Rainforest Cafe at AK?

Tusker House food is really not as exotic as it sounds. All of my picky eaters found plenty to eat there! We are trying Yak & Yeti in October. I read lots of good reviews on it!!

Yak and Yeti was very good. I would eat there again for sure. The decor was very interesting! Lots of huge statues. The fried green beans were good, so was the egg rolls. The duck appetizer was a bit dry, i should've had the ribs.. those looked great.. i had trouble deciding between the two. My DH had the skirt steak and shrimp which was very good! I would order that too. The dessert was fantastic, it was fried wontons and icecream. The server was terrible, he barely said a word the whole time! Other than that though, it was great. Now the Tusker House on the other hand.. not so much. I'd never eat there again b/c of the food. It was too strange for me, lots of couscous and spiced dished, which would be expected i guess but we didnt like it. We filled up on corn dog nuggets, mac and cheese, and the desserts.

If quick service is an option, the Flame Tree Barbeque has wonderful food!! I'm happy to be on the regular dining instead of the deluxe so that i can go there (dont want to spend TS on a QS). I love the ribs and the huge corn muffin and the key lime pie, sitting outside by the water with the little ducks begging for food.

Hope it works out!
