I am currently on hold with Disney. I wanted to add the dining plan to my reservations for May 11 - 19. I was told when I booked - no problem as long as I did it at least 3 days prior to arrival. Okay. My arrival is 24 days away. I've been on the phone now for 20 minutes. The guy asked me if I was flexible with my resort. I'm like WHAT???? He said the dining plan has limited availability??? WHAT????  I just want the dining plan......I'm not asking for any discounts or anything. He said I know.   I said, okay, I'll switch to the Poly for the same price. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

He just came back on and said they are trying make a decision in the back.

Now he came on and said there is some technical issue and they are going to correct it in the back???

Hang in there. maybe he thought you wanted the free dining and isn't looking @ your dates. But if all else fails call back. For some reason every CM tells you something different.

Call back...I often hang up and call right back when I get a clueless CM.

I'd call back, too. I think that CM is making things way more complicated than they are.

(plus the next CM, who understands what you're trying to do, will get credit for the sale)

Sounds like a clueless CM to me too, which unfortunatley, there are - even though it's Disney. ;) Call back and speak with someone else. :)

Well, to be fair, right now it is a reasonable assumption that folks calling in to add the Dining Plan are calling for the free dining promotion. I wouldn't be surprised if the CM is trying to find availability for the OP.

If you're staying during August or September, and you call back, specify that you're looking to pay for the Dining Plan, and not get it for free (assuming that's what you want).

Bicker,

The OP is staying in May. That's why we don't understand what the CM's trouble was.:confused3 :confused3

Puzzling. CMs must have free-dining-on-the-brain.

I don't get it either. The OP doesn't say where they're staying, but based on the "will take the Poly for the same price" comment, I'm guessing either a Moderate or Value.
On disneyworld.com, standard rooms are available with the Dining Plan at all four Moderate resorts and all four Value resorts for the entire length of the OP's stay. Surprising (and expensively), even the Executive Suite at Coronado Springs and the Family Suites at All Star Music are available WITH the (paid) Dining Plan! So, I agree with the other posters - that CM is wrong. Good luck, OP!

He called back around 9 pm, and I got it! I don't know what his problem was. I am booked at CSR May 11 - 19. I kinda figured at first he had "free dining" on his mind. He said there was some glitch in his system and they had to book it from the back end. I'll call later today to re-confirm. I'll also check my CC online to see if its been charged.

But the really good news is while I was waiting for him to call back, my sister called with her amnio results and the baby is FINE and a GIRL!!!!

But no upgrade to the Poly....:confused3
