I'm good about ____, but bad about ____. - New theme, 5/8

I'm good about housekeeping to the point that I wouldn't be ashamed if someone stopped by unexpectedly. But I'm bad about doing any housecleaning on a schedule. I'm definitely not going to win any housekeeping awards.

I clean when I notice "it needs it" which some days might be a day or two later than I should have noticed. But I'm pretty confident that I'm not going to end up on an episode of hoarders or anything. When I was growing up, we cleaned the house from top to bottom on Saturdays... but our schedule just doesn't seem to work like that. It's more like "yikes... I really need to vacuum" or "gosh, the bathroom could use a good cleaning" so I'll do it... but definitely not "if it's Thursday it's dusting day."

I’m good about keeping my stove top and oven clean; practically obsessed really. It makes my blood boil to find DS or DH has made a mess of the cook top and not scrubbed and polished it. :furious: I’ve recently had to add polishing the fridge and dishwasher to my “hotlist” because we got new ones that seem to mark up much more than the old ones.

I’m bad about pretty much everything else. :o I rarely have much energy or enthusiasm to do chores after work and we’re out a couple of evenings a week. We each do our own laundry and DS helps with the dishes and vacuuming. I keep the bathrooms half-decent but end up binge-cleaning everything else about once a month or so. Having company fairly regularly keeps me from neglecting things entirely.

I'm good at taking care of my pet rock....don't even want to do that anymore. Bad about keepin house the way I should tend to put it off to long.

I'm good about turning off lights, but bad about long showers and lots of laundry (large family).

I'm decent about recycling, but bad about buying plastic water bottles. Although I try to recycle them when at home.

Today's theme: school subjects.

I'm good at math, but bad at spelling.
I was (it's been almost 30 years since I was last in a classroom) good at English, the humanities and statistics. I wasn't good at advanced math/calculus but then again, a bit more effort wouldn't have hurt. I never studied sciences beyond high school as they weren't required for my degree but I feel like I could have held my own.

I was "good at" pretty much all of the subjects. My favorites were art classes and the sciences. My least favorites were usually English (although sophomore year, I had a great teacher who made it enjoyable), religion (Catholic school), and typing. Hated typing class.

(Haven't done one of these in a while, and I'm bored.)

Today's theme: Parenting

I'm good at artsy-craftsy stuff, but bad at all things medical.
.

I am good at organizing/schedules/keeping track of everything, but bad at pretend play (thankfully they are too old for that now) and gross medical stuff—loose teeth, gaping wounds.
