Woo Hoo! We found out that DH can get off work to go to WDW. Friends of ours are DVC members and are renting a Grand Villa at Saratoga Springs and invited us to go along.

We are going to WDW Oct 15-21 this year and also planning on going with the whole family again next Oct. I was going to buy tickets from Ticketmania for this years trip but then someone mentioned that maybe I should just buy an AP for my DH and myself since we will be going again in a year.

So I thought I should ask the experts here at the DIS. Which one should I buy? I was only going to get a 5 day ticket for this year and a 6-7 day ticket for next year. I should also mention that I wanted to get the park hopper option and the option to go to the waterparks but with the expiration after 14 days.

TIA!

I'll let the super-experts advise you on tickets, but I will happy dance with you!

Can't help with you question, but woohoo your going to Disney. :flower:

So, help me out here, I just woke up and can't do math yet - how many days will you be there total within a year. I think if it's 8 or more, you should do the AP.

What I would do....if you are sure you are are going to go within the 12 month period for the 13 days, get the AP pass-I think 10 days with no expiration on the hopper ticket was the breakeven point, you can get to one of the water parks with discounted rates.

But if you are not sure of your dates...the AP may expire anyway. It also depends on how many days you want to get to the water park. We have never needed to go more than once but that has to be up to your preference.

We loved using the AP, and ended up going 3 times in that year....sadly we have not been since.

Loretta on my very first post on this board!!! :wizard:

I just looked at the WDW site and I could be wrong about what I just said. With the new Magic Your Way system it doesn't look like it's cheaper to do AP.

That is what I thought too! If my math is correct, it is the same price for an AP or Magic your way for the amount of days we will be going. One other note...our friends who are DVC members may not be going to WDW next year so we may be able to use some of their points for a very discounted rate.

Don't know about the tickets, but sounds like a fun trip and a great time of the year to head to WDW! Enjoy! :)

I know DVC memebers get a discount on their AP. Maybe you could get one since your staying with them. :confused3 Doesn't hurt to ask. Plus you need to be going back before Oct 15 2006 for it to work.
