I've never been to Disney World, and I have always wanted to go. This year, we decided we were going to make it to Disney no matter what! Then, just yesterday, my boyfriend of 10 years said he wants to get married at Disney World this fall! :woohoo: I was so excited. We have tried to plan a wedding 4 times over the last 10 years, and something has gotten in the way. One time he lost his job, then we had some family issues get in the way, and then I went back to college, and the financial aid people told me I would lose my grants if I got married! So, we put it off every time. This time, nothing is stopping us. We're not inviting any family drama. We're taking 10 people who mean the world to us, and we're getting married at the happiest place on Earth! Woo Hoo. Our 5-year-old is very excited about being a flower girl, too. She asked me if she has to throw flower petals. I explained that's what flower girls do, but she insisted she'd rather throw marshmallows! :rotfl:
I haven't even planned anything, but I only have 6 months at this point, so I guess I had better get started! I'm so happy I found this board.

Congrats!!! I haven't been to Disney World in like 11 years (I was like 14) and my fiance have never been there, so the whole thing is new and exciting to us too! We're planning to get married in April 2009, but we don't have anything booked yet! Looking forward to hearing more! :) :)

Welcome and Congratulations!! :cool1:  I only had 8 months to plan my wedding and it was amazing. I'm sure you'll do fine with 6. :thumbsup2 Disney does a pretty good job at putting on spectacular events!! :wizard: I couldn't imagine planning a wedding there though without having ever been there before! I'm sure you'll have TONS of questions, so ask away. Oh and start a PJ so we can see how your plans start to shape up and come along. We like to read all the details! :surfweb:

YAY!!!
Congrats and have fun planning!
Marshmallows do sound funner than flowers... ;)

Congratulations!

You loose grants if you get married? Heh, didn't know that. Currently, DF and I are trying to figure out if it'd be better to get married now or wait, due to things like college, child support for our DS, etc. Definatly good to know that.

Marshmallows would be so awesome. I can't wait to see your TR, especially if the marshmallows work out!

Good luck! I'm sure you can do it in 6 months!

Congratulations!

Disney's definitely an amazing place to have your wedding, and will be a very easy venue if you only have six months. The Escape wedding (I assume that's what you're doing with 10 people?) is very easy to plan.

I also totally think you should go with the marshmallows! Aside from being an awesome idea, I think it's something you'd see in your pictures years from now and smile about.

Good luck!

Congratulations!

Neither of us had been to WDW in 14 years and we planned our over-the-top spectacle of a wedding in just 5 months - it is soooooo easy and so much fun!

OK, so when's the big day? I want to crash your wedding so I can catch some of those marshmallows.... in my mouth! :rotfl:

I've never been to Disney World either. But from what everyone says, it's an addictive place to be.

Well, I've heard that whatever you throw has to be biodegradable. Hmmm... I have no idea what exactly marshmallows are made of!

Good luck!

Just wanted to chime in and tell you that I got pregnant and planned my wedding in 2 months while having morning sickness....you'll do great with 6 months and a non-sick belly :) Good luck! And let us know if you have any questions!

Congratulations!

This board is amazing for finding answers to your quetions, so ask away.

We've had to postpone a few times for various reasons, so I totally understand the *nothing is gonna get in the way this time!* sentiment. ;)

Can't wait to hear all about your plans :surfweb: popcorn::

Wishing you, your DF & DD much pixiedust:

Welcome :welcome: and CONGRATULATIONS!!! party:

This is an awesome place to get your questions answered. You will have such a great time planning! :goodvibes

I think the marshmallows are out. I saw the rose wands on another page, and I thought they were so cute. I showed my daughter, and she loved them. She asked if she is allowed to put spells on people. I told her she can put a spell on our family so we'll be happy forever. She liked that idea. I guess there won't be any throwing:)
We did pick Sea Breeze Point all ready for the location. We looked at pictures on another website, and we both picked that as our first choice. I love that it's right on the water. I called my sister and told her to buy a blue dress to match the water. For now, that's all the planning I have accomplished. I have been reading the boards and soaking it all in. I'm thinking of picking a September date to take advantage of the free dining I read about.
Thanks for welcoming me. I am very excited, and I''m sure I'll be posting...a lot!

welcome welcome welcome!! How exciting!! Sad to hear the marshmallows are out...maybe ill steal that idea lol. Start a PJ so we can all be nosy and watch you plan!!!
