Is there any "must see" things there? Restaurants? Places of interest?

I'll be there for about 2 days in late May.

Thanks!

Canada ;) My sister used to live there many years ago when she and her hubby worked at the now defunct Loring AFB - other than seeing a moose walking through their front yard I don't remember much going on. It has been over 15 years since I've been there though.

Bath is in Southern Maine about 1 1/2 hours south of me! Freeport, with LL Bean, alot of galleries and outlets is just a few exits south of Bath on the highway. If you have alot of time to sight see, let me know. I have alot of suggestions.

I totally second Freeport. Tons of outlits! Just be careful, or you'll spend all the money you make from your work in Bath :teeth:

ooh here is another vote for the outlets in Freeport or maybe even the Kittery outlets. she might want to head to Portland also to check out the "old port" for shopping and dine at D'Millo's on real Maine Lobstah !!!! Ayep.. heehehe Michelle

Too funny!! :) Twenty years ago, DH and I lived at Loring AFB when he was in the Air Force. I'm pretty familiar with Northern Maine and have no desire to EVER return.

I am hoping that Southern Maine is a better place.

Also, a guy at work told me about a restaurant named "Cook's." Heard of it?

Definitely check out the old port in Portland - it's really neat just to wander around in. Boothbay is also a really neat town. Freeport isn't bad if you want to go shopping.

I've never heard of it, but my uncle owns The Villa in Portland, I don't know if that's the name of it, that's just what we call it, it's a pizza house. Tell them you know Megan. I doubt it will get you a discount, but it will make me feel important :teeth:

If not a discount, then maybe extra cheese on my pizza?

I bet I could swing that for you, it's good to know people in high places ;) :teeth:
