I’m Going in, I’m Going alone, and they all think I’m nuts!!!
Welcome to my Pre “SOLO” Trip report…. I have had so much fun reading some of your pre-trip and trip reports that I decided, what the heck. Also figured this would be a good opportunity, for those who are interested, to get to know me and vice versa. Sooooo, if your in, Here we go……….
Let me start by introducing my self…… Hi, my name is Adam and I am fairly new to the DIS. I’m 33 years old and live in Rochester, NY where I own a small business (I’ll get back to that in a minute). I stumbled upon the DIS while researching for this trip. I liked it so much I started hanging around, and now here I am. I’ve been a Disney nut for a while now, there are a lot of great family memories for me while visiting the parks, nearly every year over the course of my life and I’ve come to think of my self as a Disney aficionado. I’ve seen all the shows on the Travel and History channels an unimaginable amount of times and read most of the books and have watched the Florida property grow from 2 hotels and 1 park to what it is today. The whole concept and achievement fascinates the hell outa’ me. Most of my friends don’t understand the fixation that I have with Disney, but they’re coming around.
So, I said I own a small business……and I do. I am the sole proprietor, El Presidente, Chief cook and Head Bottle washer of ACcustomX Inc. Here I am and this is some of what I do……
I own a small custom bike shop. Started out just doing custom paint work, but recently became a registered motorcycle manufacture and have built a couple of custom bikes. We also manufacture some custom “handmade” parts and offer mechanical work mostly on American V-Twin based bikes……Today, however, I will take on just about anything to bring in money. The economy is doing a number on the industry and I am sitting here watching other local shops drop like flies. It can be very stressful at times, the hours are long (all I do is work), and it has cost me a relationship or two. But, I love what I do, and I am a firm believer in the statement “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them” -Walt Disney
Anyway, I need a friggin’ vacation. Everyone keeps asking, “Why not the Beach?”, “How bout a cruise?”, “Vegas baby, Vegas!”……. No way man, I am going to Disney World, and yes I am going alone!
