I'm going back to Disney (staying in FW cabins), and me & the 3kids are about to pop!

This is my first ever post, but I have been lurking on these boards since I started planning my last trip in August 2006. I found so much valuable information, especially about our resort where we stayed last November, Coronado Springs, and about where we are going this May, Ft. Wilderness Cabins, and thoughts for our November trip as well! Yes, I am a new Disney fanatic. I used to go often when we lived in FL, but just took our children for the first time last November for Thanksgiving with family who live in or near Orlando. It was so magical that I started dreaming of our next trip as soon as we got back! I love the planning!!! And I see I am not alone in this from other posts I have read. :goodvibes So I talked Dh into another trip this May. He got to make a big purchase for his hobby (new camera), and I got to start planning our next visit. I figure I won both ways as we will take the camera on the trip!!

About us, we've been married for 15 yrs. and have twin boys who will turn 6 while we are at Disney in May, as well as a 2 yr. daughter. I am fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom, and I am a power seller on ebay. I list my kids clothes, and stuff for friends and family. Its a nice side job that I can do in my spare time.

Anyway, with a family of 5, the Wilderness cabins seemed like a great fit for this coming trip. Plus there is so much to do there!! The campfires, movies, petting zoo, fishing (reminds me I need to get to Wal-mart to get fishing poles for the boys!), golf carts (yes, we rented one already), and the boat to MK! All just too much fun.

I am really looking forward to seeing the fireworks over the lake there one night, watching the kids play outside the cabin looking for bugs and bunnies, and zooming around in that golf cart! (must remember to pack a towel in case it gets wet...) Not to mention the fact that we will have a separate room for Dh and Ds who both get up at an insanely early hour every morning. Other ds, dd, and I will sleep in while they hang out in the living room or on the porch. Only economical way for us to have a suite like this. Its just a great alternative for a family of 5 or more.

My only complaint is the double bed. We had this at the Coronado in November, and it was rather small. I may kick Dh out to the Murphy bed! (shh! don't tell him!) I would offer, but he's the early riser!

The Coronado was a lovely hotel, but all five of us (baby was in portable crib) made for cramped quarters. I think we will miss the themed pool a bit. But not too much. The kids are really little still and just like water. Any water. The slides and pyramid were neat, but they were too little to enjoy them. So, we will be fine with the pool and playgrounds at the campground. The petting zoo will more than make up for any shortcomings on theming! I hope that they have those brushes like they do at the AK. My dd had the best time chasing goats around there with a brush. She would brush them all day long.

Its too bad they are too young to ride the horses. I would like to go for a ride. Maybe some of our family will watch the kids while we go for a leisure ride. The carriages sound great too, but they are a little pricey since we are renting a golf cart.

So I am thinking about packing now that we are less than 3 weeks out. I have wardrobe plans. I need some more shirts for the boys though. I want Pirates of the Carribean shirts for them. We have one Mickey, Stars and Power Rangers for our MGM visit. The girl will wear a smocked Cinderella dress one day, a Pooh bear dress another, and I got a smocked Ariel shorts set for an insanely high price on ebay (but hey, I can turn around and sell it back, you know?) I have more smocked dresses for her, but I'll move on. I need ponchos for rain days. Sticks and marshmallows for the campfire. I want to pack coffee and filters. Boxes of snacks and breakfast foods. My mil will go to the store for me and bring essentials like milk and water.

I bought Pirates of the Carribean lanyards on clearance at Target for starting a pin collection. I still need autograph books. We didn't get them last time, but I think we should start. One more thing to cram into our backpack! But we have the stroller too. DD took nice naps in it in November, and I am hoping she will again. Especially since we got a really late dinner reservation one night with Cindrella at 1900 Park Fare.

We are eating at Kona, Crystal Palace (pooh characters), Akershaus (princesses), Hollywood & Vine (playhouse disney characters), and 1900 Park Fare. These are our character meal plans. I had a reservations for all 3 meals each day in November, and we made it to almost all of them, but it was hard (and EXPENSIVE). We had our car then, so we could drive to the hotels for dinner; but we are flying down this time ($59 one way direct flight! woohoo!)

So we will try to eat in our cabin some to take advantage of the kitchen and save some money for the golf cart rental (notice the running golf cart theme here; trying to justify the added expense to hubby (really just want to drive one for the first time...))

So that's the plans for now. Where my crazy head is at ALL day EVERY day. No wonder I keep forgetting important stuff like my purse and to pay a bill - I'm busy planning my trip!

Plus I am thinking ahead to November when we plan to go back again for Thanksgiving with family. We hope this will be our new Thanksgiving tradition (I'm just sneaking this May trip in since they had a great May room only offer and the kids had a day off of school and the airfare was so cheap and I want to drive one of those golf carts...)!

This November, I want to stay at the Contemporary or the WL if I can get a good rate. The baby turns 3 in December, so it will be our last trip where we can all stay in one room and not buy her a ticket, so let's do it big with a Deluxe! Woohoo!

So that's all for tonight, folks. I am sorry if I was long-winded or boring. I appreciate anybody who has made it this far. I am just really excited that I am going so soon -- May 3rd is so close!!!

Best wishes to my fellow Disney dreamers and fanatics!

Only 17 more days until I get on a plane to Disney! I can't wait to eat at the Crystal Palace. I love their mushroom pasta! And Pooh Bear. Love him.

But mostly I am excited because I have never done a Princess character meal! I have one scheduled at Epcot and 1900 Park Fare. I couldn't get in to Cinderella's castle this trip. Nor could I get a pirate cruise. I have called many times to see if there has been a cancellation. Maybe there will be within 48 hrs. I can hope, can't I? I think the boys would love one of the pirate cruises. I know I would. I wish they let adults go too. It sounds so fun with the treasure hunting and dress-up. My boys still like to dress-up as super-heroes or pirates. They wore Power Ranger outfits during our last trip. Dd wears a princess costume most every day at home. Its so cute to see the kids dressed up at Disney!

We are planning on getting Dd's first haircut at the barber shop this trip. I have never seen this done, but have heard that it is really special there. Anybody who has done, please let me know your experience.

I'm just really looking forward to this trip. Its something so wonderful to look forward. An escape. A chance to live, for a little while at least, in a world where everything is beautiful, everyone is happy, and it feels a little like a fairy tale.

My dream would be to win the night in the Cinderella suite, of course. Maybe my fairygodmother will be looking out for me on this trip. :) I'll let you know! We did get free Mouse Ears on our last trip! Who knows?

Until then, I'm just Dreaming! :)

So I bought graham crackers and chocolate today to make smores at the campfire! I can't wait. Love Chip and Dale. So do the boys. Not sure that dd got to see them last time. We got to go out w/ just the boys a few times last trip while grandmother kept dd. We rode Thunder Mountain that way. I was nervous about the boys since they were 5, but they weren't scared at all. *I* was though. lol I haven't ridden a coaster since I last rode Space Mountain in 1996. We hope to ride Splash Mountain this trip. It was so cold at T-giving last year that we decided not to get wet. It will be nice and warm this trip. We will play in the water spouts at Ariel's Grotto and Pooh's Corner this time too.

We love the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground at MGM too. I had a lot of fun climbing the spider web myself. :)

How great is it that they have Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse on Playhouse Disney now? So my kids are familiar with all the Mickey characters now. Its a great little show. I like it too. Its happy. Ds loves the mystery mouseke-tool.

I love the Buzz Lightyear ride. I think it is awesome. I would ride it over and over if I could. Pirates is cool too for the boys. We'll be on that one quite a bit.

11-19-06Disneyvacation167.jpg

I LOVE imagining myself there already and riding the rides! Walking down mainstreet. And having a castmember walk up and tell me I won! lol

Is two weeks too early to start packing suitcases?? I just have a pile in a chair in the bedroom for now - lanyards, poptarts, special wardrobe. I need to get my ears down from the attic. Take them back rather than buy more, you know?

The boys are having a birthday party here at the house the Saturday before we leave. Pirates of the Carribean and Star Wars themes. I have a lot of cleaning before then! Dh has been pressure washing everything outside. Most of the yellow pollen has passed, so we can put all the furniture out again.

Off to dream some more!

Sounds like you are just as excited as I am! I can totally relate to your planning out each little item to remember to pack. I have had a master list made for the last few months.
My family and I will be there April 30 - May 5. We are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. This is our first time trip to WDW, and I hope we can experience as much magic as I have read from others! We have two children, DS6 and DD4.
The closest they have been to a theme park is the local carnival, so they will be overwhelmed with all they see. (they happen to be watching a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse video right now that we just rented at Blockbuster)
I will be curious to hear what you think of the cabins. We have tried our luck at camping the last two summers (live in MI), and I know my DH would like to try them out sometime.
Enjoy your trip!

Hi CinderellaDreamer! Just read your whole trip report. So nice to have relatives living in FL! When I was a girl my grandmother worked for Disney and I would spend summers with her...it was wonderful :cloud9: ! I've always wanted to stay at the Fort Wilderness Cabins (please post pictures!). They sound so fun with the campfires (I love that you already bought all the supplies!) and movies. Happy Birthday to the boys! As for packing too early definitely not. I already started packing for our honeymoon 2 and 1/2 weeks away!

Hey Truppcma! You are going to be there even before I am! Are you just about to pop???? Your first time?? That's wonderful!! I am SO excited for you! Your kids are going to love, love, love it! My boys had the best time ever last November. EVER. That's why we are going back again so soon. (all my neighbors think we are crazy to go so soon) The CBR is very nice, I'm sure. You'll have to post photos from there.

I think the cabins will be really fun! I don't camp. At all. So this is as close as I will get to it! Dh is an Eagle scout, crazy camper, so he will love this. I like that the kids will be able to run around outside and play. I just know we will love the cabins. :)

And I love that you are watching a mouse club video to get ready! That is so like me. We are watching lots of Disney to get us in the mood.

But nothing will be as great as watching a movie outside at the campground! TWO WEEKS!

Hey Serendipity!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I'm sure you will be a beautiful bride!! And your disneymoon will be amazing!!! Are you going to wear the wedding ears? I'm so happy and excited for you! I wish we had gone to Disney for our honeymoon.

And what lovely memories for you of summers with your grandmother at Disney! We are so fortunate to have family in Orlando and south FL who will come out to Disney to see us. They are having a big time planning the boys birthday party!

And I am so glad that you are packing already too! Makes me feel better. lol

You are getting married in 2 1/2 weeks! WOW!!! That's just wonderful.

So I'm going up to the attic now to get the suitcases since you said it was okay...

Great to hear from you both!

13 days! Yes, THIRTEEN DAYS!!!! I can't wait. Everyone thinks I'm crazy though to be going back so soon. They're just jealous. ha

I've called many times to try and get a cancellation for CRT or a pirate cruise. We may just have to look forward to those on the NEXT trip.

Here's our plan:

Arrive at Ft. Wilderness on Thursday:
No ADRs
Maybe go to MK by boat for a little while. Poke around the campground and see what's to do there. Pet a goat. Ride a pony. And enjoy the golf cart. :)
Family comes to us that night to bring us dinner from Outback and cake for the party! We'll celebrate the boys' birthday, then maybe go to the campfire for a while.

Friday, May 4th
ADR for breakfast at Crystal Palace, dinner at Kona
Play at the MK all day; Buzz Lightyear, here I come!
Ds' can't wait for Pirates
Dd will latch onto any character nearby; maybe we'll get to Ariel's Grotto

Saturday, May 5th
Early morning at MGM to ride Star Tours!!
ADRs at Hollywood & Vine and Trails End
Play at MGM ALL day; especially Star Tours, Little Mermaid, and Honey I shrunk the Kids playground

Sunday, May 6th
ADRs at Akershaus and Garden Grill
Play at EPCOT all day; I've cut and pasted from others' posts for the fun things that they like to do with their kids there. I'm hoping they will want to do the kids' passports. Maybe make cookies. Yum!

Monday, May 7th
ADRs Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare
Early morning hours at AK, so we much toss our Crystal Palace plans since we don't have park hopper. We'll see where the kids want to go. We want to go to Downtown Disney some time too.

Tuesday, May 8th
No ADR since we are going home today.
Epcot has early morning hours, so if we loved it there on Sunday, we may go back today. We have to keep up with time since we fly out at 4.

Wednesday, May 9th
Do 8 loads of laundry.
Sink into depression

Saturday, May 19th
Start calling for ADRs for trip in November
Emerge from depression after scheduling CRT and pirate cruises.

Great pics!! I am an avid scrapbooker so I am really hoping to get some nice shots on our trip to do a Disney scrapbook.
My husband just dropped our neighbors off at the airport, they left this morning for 8 days at WDW. They will get back two days before we leave, so I am anxious to hear all they say when they get back. I think I'll pick them up from the airport instead of DH, maybe take a mini tape recorder, and conduct an all out interview!! hee hee
9 more days for us, started to get the summer clothes out, will probably pack this weekend. I have quite a stash going, since I have been grabbing items for the last 3 months, (ponchos, wet wipes, Sharpies, etc)
The anticipation seems to be half the fun!!!!

A little over a week left!!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! I am so excited! Its all I want to think about.

A friend called me from the Disney store today and said the shirts are on sale. I have to make a trip tomorrow to check those out! We all need Mickey shirts, right?

And sunscreen. Must pack sunscreen. I keep checking the 10 day forecast at weather.com. We are finally within ten days! I keep hoping for a cold front to pass through so we won't be in shock for the weather change from here. The humidity will be the big difference.

I got fishing poles, hooks, and line. The boys will enjoy fishing. Will there be time for that though? I am hoping.

I've been reading more on Epcot, and it sounds like there are some fun things for kids this month with the garden show. I will have to take them through the fairy garden and to the ladybug release. Although, dd is not fond of bugs. I think the boys will love it. And go on the Mexico ride. See the acrobats and hear some bands playing around the world. And isn't there a boat ride across to the world? We'll have to do that. We were unable to do Turtle Talk w/ Crush last time, so that is high on the agenda. And I read about baking cookies and mixing coke drinks. Sounds like a free snack to me! ha

I can't wait to sit out on that deck at the cabin and relax (must pack bug spray..). My mind is on over-time with thinking of all I need to do! Relaxing there will be wonderful.

See you soon!

All of your ADR's sound wonderful- I love the itinerary! Aren't you just bursting with excitement!?!?

I AM ABOUT TO POP!!!!! I just can't wait! :hourglass Only 4 more days until I get on a plane to Disney World!!! I'm going to Disney World!!! Woohoo!

Twins are so happy too. Their birthday is exciting enough, but add Disney and WOW! I don't know if any of us will sleep for the next few days! Too happy. :dance3:

:flower3: So I am scouring the boards for details on the cabins and campground. I am so grateful for all of the people who have posted details - like that the hair dryer is in the bedroom rather than the bathroom. ??? What's up with that?? Will be bringing my dryer so that I can use it in the bathroom where normal people blow their hair dry.

And then I am scouring the board for my NEXT trip already. Such a Disney addict. Its crazy. Wondering if there will be a bounce back when we go in November so I could book for the NEXT year even! lol I am so happy when I am thinking about Disney and when I am planning to go to Disney and when I am at Disney. (I'm happy at other times too - its just more fun with Disney! princess: ) And my kids are little, so it seems even more magical now.

I love watching their faces when we are on Its a Small World. So precious. And the girl being so thrilled with Pooh Bear and Princesses. She just hugs them and squeals when she sees another one!

11-19-06Disneyvacation316.jpg

But I squeal about them too!

I'm still not completely packed, believe it or not! I did get some Disney bows from ebay in the mail yesterday. And my power seller t-shirt. And I went to the Disney store to check out the t-shirts. Great sale. I bought a couple. And the Clubhouse Disney stuffed characters are on sale too. 2 for $10. I tried to be very good while I was there though. Saving money for the trip. And they don't need souvenirs. If we do buy something, it can be at DTD using our Rewards Visa discount.

And I will be using my Visa to get my free photo at Epcot Meet & Greet! I have $330 in rewards to transfer this week. Once I am *certain* we are getting on that plane. Already have the card, just need to transfer the rewards. That will pay for the golf cart. :cheer2: YEA! I found a way to mention the golf cart AGAIN!

Off to the big party today for school friends. Got to get everything clean and ready!

See ya soon!

WE ARE LEAVING IN JUST FOUR DAYS! I keep checking the weather, making lists, thinking of what to do first... The kids and I discuss what we want to ride. I read that the lines won't be that bad next week. I hope not. That would be dreamy. Or to win the fastpass!! Or the Cinderella suite! Still dreaming about those.

The birthday party was a success! 20 six year olds in the backyard playing happily. The weather was so fine here. Still is today. We are sitting on the back deck a lot. Everything is green and lovely. We love sitting out and enjoying nature. I'm sure we will love being at the cabins and sitting out there too. I want a citronella candle though. Asking mother-in-law to bring it.

I'm packing! Got 5 suitcases down from the attic. I'm going to go to Wal-mart tomorrow for last minute shopping. I want one of those fans that hangs your neck.

Off to watch the Amazing Race!

See ya soon!

TWO MORE DAYS!!!!:cool1:

But oh no! The baby has a fever! So I will take her to the doctor tomorrow. Maybe she has strep since she doesn't want to eat or drink. They can give her a shot, and she will be tip top in no time. OR - she has a virus and will be sick for the entire trip. I am hoping and praying she will be well fast.

I have a lot packed. One entire suitcase full of food. Mostly breakfast and snacks.

Backpack still needs to be done. I have to have it ready for the park since we won't get our luggage right away. Diapers, wipes, some snacks and rain ponchos. Cameras! DVD player for the plane. Movies. Snacks.

We eat a lot.

Off to watch the Idol!

See ya soon!

Good news! Baby woke up today just fine! No more fever. I even cancelled the doc appt. She has a little diarrhea, but otherwise is fine. YEA! Prayers answered on that one.

I transfered my Disney rewards dollars to my reward card, so that means we are really going!

Got my hair cut, colored, and straigtened! New do for Disney! Taking baby for her first haircut! So excited.

I'll be at Disney tomorrow this time!!!!

I'll be thinking of you!

See ya soon!

Well, I'm about to go to sleep. All packed up. Kids are in bed and actually asleep! One boy is so excited about getting up early - I always tell them to stay in their room until 7 a.m. Ds is so happy he can get up at 6 tomorrow! lol

Baby is doing well! No fever today. Eating more today. A little tummy troubles still, but we are well enough to go! Just extra diapers and a change of clothes.

Got the backpack ready to go once we get checked in. Dh has got his camera prepared. He loves to take pictures. He is looking forward to getting a good one of the fireworks. I will be sure to post one when we get back.

The weather looks wonderful for Monday! A little hot up until then, but the rides are a good break from the heat. I'm a little concerned about being able to get back to the cabin easily since someone posted that its an hour boat ride this week from the MK. Eek.

We'll manage though. The boat will be exciting for us! We'll come back and nap in the afternoon so we can enjoy a late dinner.

Well, I'm going to sign off and go to bed!

Take care fellow Dis'ers!

See ya soon!
