I know this won't be a viable option for everyone but..... I go every 2 weeks to donate platelets at a local blood bank. It just makes me feel good that I might be doing something good and helping to possibly help someones life. As a bonus, every time I donate I get points that I can use on the website store to get things like shirts, hats, soft-side cooler & stuff like that. One of the items is a $10 Wal-Mart card. I cashed in all my points from all my donations for the past 2 years and was able to get 13 $10 cards so I have a total of $130 to use at the Wal-Mart near WDW for our in-room supplies & food. I know $130 doesn't sound like much for 2 years worth of donations but 1) I don't do it for the money and 2) that is now $130 that I can use on more WDW souvenirs or Mickey bars! :thumbsup2

That's awesome. And I know you don't do it for the money, but this is a perfect example of "karma"....good karma! Enjoy your vacation! :)

Thanks for donating! It's great to be rewarded for doing good!

Thank you.

My teenage daughter was diagnosed this year with severe aplastic anemia - one of the effects is that her bone marrow does not produce platelets. She is currently transfusion independent, but she needed many transfusions to get there, and may need them again at some point.

Have a great trip, and enjoy your little perk. :)

I hope your daughter gets well very soon.

OP, as was said, thank you for your donation of platelets. As we can see, they do save lives.:goodvibes

And that's why I do what I do, not for the perks (although they will come in handy). I truly hope your daughter gets better. Pixie dust your way! pixiedust:
